The wind has been playing havoc with our golf over the last few weeks, but on the positive side, it is drying out the course!
Having just been on the course with the Novices, I noticed that there was some run on the fairways and the greens were pretty slick. We have a couple of the "newbies" moving up to play 18 holes. Please welcome Heather Wallace and Emma Fernandez on Tuesday if you happen to see them.
The 8th and 9th are still a little muddy, but the new ditch, bridges and turf certainly make them very interesting holes. Slowly but surely, we are learning to play the 8th and scoring reasonably well!
The GUR on both these holes is COMPULSORY GUR. Please don't try and hit your ball off the new turf or muddy areas as it could be quite dangerous - you could slip and hurt yourself. It is a safety and maintenance issue that we must adhere to the Compulsory GUR local ruling.
The Red Penalty Stakes have been removed from the ditch on the right hand side of the 9th fairway. This area is now Compulsory GUR. The Red Penalty Stakes are up by the Pittosporum near the 10th tee.
On the 15th hole, the Red Penalty Stakes have been removed from the area below the dam wall.
WATTLE DAY
Next Thursday we have 63 players playing in our annual Wattle Day. This is a fantastic number - thank you for putting your names down and inviting visitors from other clubs.
We have 24 visitors from a variety of clubs which is wonderful. There are no visitors from Sydney unfortunately.
It is a 2 Tee start - 1st and 10th. Please check the computer as to which Tee you are starting from. The gate on the 7th will be open and there will be sand buckets available.
RULES
Please download the attached file for Rule 17 - Penalty Areas.
As is mentioned in the attached file - you MAY stand in a penalty area to play a ball outside the penalty area, including after taking relief from the penalty area.

- If you want the most fabulous bread in town, then SONOMA is just the place. Whatever you do, don't leave without trying at least one of their pastries. The Portuguese tarts and the berry & lemon popover tarts are my favourites. This bakery is addictive and I am now a regular! It has a wonderful local appearance with everything baked on the premises.
- I am a mad seed pod collector and my large wooden bowl just keeps getting bigger. I have collected most of mine from various trees etc, but I find it hard to go past COUNTRY ACCENT without checking on their pod supply! During these dreary winter days, why not start your own collection and then boost it along for just a couple of dollars with a few amazing additions from this charming shop. I also just love their oyster shell balls which look especially good bundled together in a basket. Large - $19.50, Small - $15. Located near the PO in Bong Bong Street.
- I often talk about Aldi and Harris Farm and it's hard not to continue doing just that, as both stores provide some wonderful shortcut options for us girls. HARRIS FARM has bite size pastry shells that are brilliant, but sometimes the extra small ones are harder to get. When you see them, stock up! Fill them with some ALDI Barrel goat's cheese then top using your imagination!
Keep shopping, and remember the "touch, feel and smell" method instead of on-line is much more exciting.
