Hello again Ladies,

Just a quick Report on a very hot and interesting day.!

We had four Ladies playing a Stroke Competition and also counted Stableford points.  

The Winner on her new "Daily" Handicap of 25 with 101 Scratch and Nett of 76 (30) S'ford) was Helen Chadwick.  She receives 3 points, Stephie on nett 81 (h'cap 17!) receives 2 points and Pam Barker with nett 82 and h'cap 19 receives 1 point towards our Sat Trophy event.

Special THANKS is extended to Noela and Anne Vitou, and Steph for spending several hours on the computer at the Club yesterday.  They entered all the cards from different comps since 20th Jan so that members are now up to date with their GA and Daily Handicaps.  More on this on Thursday.  We are very lucky to have such dedicated committee members.  It has been a pretty stressful time with this new system.  All should go well from now on!

We look forward to next week when cooler weather is expected.

Hello! Ladies.

Here it is - the end of January, already!

Just one more week until we officially commence our Golfing Year.  We have 48 Ladies playing on the 6th February.  There is a Draw in the Ladies Locker Room.
If we have the computer up and running with correct Handicaps and Rating, the draw will also be on the Computer.  So check there in a few days time.

It was great to extend a WARM WELCOME to a NEW LADY MEMBER, Sue Harrison, today.  It's great to have you come on board, Sue.

Today we played a PAR Round in fine conditions with greens running quickly!!
PAT DONOGHUE on a Handicap of 37 and a fine Score of +4 won the $15 Voucher.
Balls to Runner Up, Lady President on +2, then Lady Captain, 3rd on -!, Barb Clayton -1, Pam Barker -1, Adele Lingard -2, Wendy Pope -3, Robyn McGinnes -4(on c/b) to  Stephne Whiteway -4.

The PRO-PIN which jack potted from last Thursday was a healthy $84.  And the generous winner, Birthday girl, Pam Barker promptly shouted drinks from the Bar.

Stephne W, Pennant Co-Ordinator , extended an invitation to the ladies present, to put their names forward to be in the Pennant Team.  We are quite short of numbers for each week and though you may not be playing each week, it will be good to have Reserves to call upon should they be needed.  Be assured that we will accommodate those ladies who wish to play but do not wish to drive.  That is not a problem!  So please come forward by next week so we have a proper  team for the 2nd game on Friday, 14th Feb.

Noela Mc, Handicap Manager, outlined the problems we currently have in not having the correct GA or Daily Handicap.  We all hope the Golf Gods have it fixed by early next week!  Those games we have played since 23rd Jan will have scores put in the computer and have your proper Handicap for you.  We will advise you when this happens!

AUSTRALIA DAY was a great success - See Kevin's Blog for results etc.  Thanks to Pam Barker advocating for us to celebrate this special Day. - The 2 Kevins and Staff all made a wonderful effort with decorations and real Aussie BBQ +!
Well done, everyone.

OPENING DAY DRAW - is in the Locker Room - It will also be on the Computer in due course.  please read Conditions of Play and note it is a  8.00am for 8.30am Shotgun Start.  4BBBB Team Event.

SUMMER COMP - 3RD TO 6TH March - Entry form in Locker Room. GNSW Event.

GOULBURN OPEN DAY:  Wednesday, 19th February - $25.  Sheet in Locker Room.  Closes 10th Feb.

NOTES FROM MATCH & GREENS COMMITTEE - PASPALUM is a problem on this course.  Damian will be spraying tomorrow.  However, it is a time consuming and long term problem.  So, if there ARE LADIES WHO WOULD LIKE TO FORM A WORKING BEE to help out with this problem???? - I shall address this further at Thursday Presentation.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CAROLE TURPIE FOR 26TH JANUARY (Nothing like a Scot celebrating Australia Day!) and Captain Emeritus PAM BARKER will celebrate her Birthday tomorrow, 29th January.  It is nice for Pam to have her sister, Barbara and friend  Rob, visiting from Melbourne and being here for her Birthday celebrations too.

Hello Ladies,

4 Ladies played in a STROKE round today.  Welcome again to our visitor, Margaret Horowitz from Moss Vale Club.  

The Winner with the new DAILY HANDICAP of 30 was Helen Chadwick with a Nett 73.  We also converted strokes to a stableford score which was (34) for me.  This is what GA wanted us to do today.  No worries!
Points towards 2014 Trophy was Helen C = 3
Stephne Whiteway = 2  and Noela McMurray receives 1 point.

I will see some of you ladies tomorrow at the Australia Day golf and BBQ - Have fun and let's reflect on just how lucky we are to live in this beautiful country.

Good Evening, Ladies

16 ladies played in the Canadian Foursomes Competition today - The soft rain did not deter them and the Results were quite good.

Winners with a Gross of 102 - less team h'cap of 25.88 and Nett of 76.125 points were ROBYN McGINNES AND SHIRLEY BRERETON.  - 2 balls each. 
Runners Up with 108 Gross, h'cap 26.25 and Nett of 81.75 were SUE OLSEN AND FRAN ANDERSON - 1 ball each. Well done, ladies and to all who participated.


VIP NOTICE:  The CSGA have revised handicap divisions for our BRONZE SHIELD PENNANTS.  Our previous range was 19 - 37 h'cap and we had filled our quota ready to commence play on the 7th February, 2014.


Unfortunately, we have to lose 3 players due to this change and so we will be without Rosemary Downing, Pat Donoghue and Jane Clifford at this stage.
Therefore we are looking for VOLUNTEERS who have a handicap of 16 through to 32 to fill the vacancies.  You will not have to commit to every game
but should we get 3 to 5 ladies then we can have turn about.


PLEASE RING STEPHNE AND CAROLE, the Pennant Co-ordinators, or myself, if you wish to participate in this very important competition.  THANK YOU LADIES!!!!!!


SLOPE RATING is being changed as I type this and our vigilant Handicapper, Noela McMurray, hopes to have the new HANDICAP LIST AVAILABLE BY FRIDAY EVENING.  


I will speak about these 2 matters more on Thursday. - It's lovely to see that an even 32 players are playing on Thursday.  Should anyone who is not down to play but would like to, please try to get three others to make the required 4 off the tee.  Thank you.


It was good to see the very busy Suzie Crawford play today and to see Gloria Campbell pop in for a coffee together with Faye Frith. Faye mentioned that she has been overwhelmed with the friendship and calls made to her over these last few months.  It's not hard to do, is it, girls - she is such a lovely lady!

Hello Ladies,

Only 3 ladies played in our Individual Stableford today - but what we lacked in quantity, we sure had "quality" from our Winner!

STEPHNE WHITEWAY on a 21 h'cap had a great 39 points.  Steph really had the best round in all areas of her game. Straight drives, good pitching and putting and having 6 pars into the bargain.  Yes, we are impressed.  And so was Stephne when her handicap dropped to her lowest personal handicap at 20.2!  Congrats!


Helen and Pam trailed behind with 26 & 25 respectively.

Good Afternoon, Ladies.

I have both Tuesday and today's Results for you.

Firstly, further to the request by Barb Westwood to have help on a short Working Bee, I am pleased to say THANK YOU to the following ladies who gave 8 - 9.30am time to dead head the roses near our Flagpole:
 Barb Westwood, Carole Turpie, Di Mellen and Penny McKenna. - A job well done!

TUESDAY GOLF:  12 Ladies Played in a PAR game

Winner:  Leonie Carroll on h'cap of 26 with +2  =  2 Balls.
Runner up:  Marcia Jackson on h'cap 33 with square  = 1 ball.


THURSDAY GOLF:        20 Ladies played a Stableford game.


Winner:  Helen Chadwick on h'cap 29 with 40 points ( a rare win for me these days!) $15 Voucher. Balls to:
Runner up:  Cathy Maule on h'cap of 39 with 39 points and balls also to: Anne Keys 38, Shirley Brereton 36,  Jan Ferguson 33, Jan Lane 33, and Maggie McKenzie also with 33 points.


Ladies,  I would like to urge you to drink a lot of water and put wet towels on your neck etc when we have such hot weather.  It may also be wise to take a cart and this does make it a more enjoyable game.  There should be carts available but book through the Pro Shop the night before if possible.


A reminder for you to check out the latest email from Kevin Kenny re the Inaugural Southern Highlands 2014 Mixed 4BBB Tournament.  It sounds great and weather should be lovely when it is on as our Autumn here is the best time!  It's great that Bowral Golf Club will be involved.


Another reminder:  Please put your names down for our OPENING DAY on Thursday, 6th February.  President v Captain 4BBB comp.  Anne and I will be doing the Draw on Tuesday, 28th January, so please be sure to be on the list in the Locker Room - (It is not on the Computer!)


"NEWS FLASH!!!!!"  - We have received the wonderful news that our Faye Frith has completed her Chemotherapy and shows no sign of any Cancer.  Further checks will be done in 6 months.  -  It will be wonderful to have Faye back playing with us again- but do take it easy in this weather, won't you Faye?


The Match Committee met on Tuesday and had a very full Agenda to fill.  Much was accomplished and our wonderful Secretary, Rosemary has already done and circulated the Minutes, and, the Agenda for Ordinary Meeting to be held next Thursday.  We hope you enjoy your trip to Japan Rosemary and Terry!

SUMMER HAS ARRIVED!

We were delighted to have 3 visitors join us in our Stableford Competition today.  Christine & Michelle from Wollongong Club and Margaret from Moss Vale. So with 10 ladies altogether we had a "real" competition!

The Winner was Margaret Horwitz from MV on a h'cap of 23 with a great result of 39 points. (2 balls) Runner up was Stephne Whiteway on h'cap of 22 with 37 points.(1 ball) Stephne also won the Drive & Pitch on the 15th Hole. It was pretty close to the flag, too!

Well done, to all the girls who came in pretty tired from the heat.  Then the computer and Printer system caused a few problems for Noela and Carole on cards.  Thank you girls for your troubles.

Now to some HOUSEKEEPING - Our lovely Barbara Westwood has made the following request:-  


A short one hour WORKING BEE  at 8AM will be held this MONDAY, 13TH January, 2014 - DEAD HEADING ROSES under the Flag at the front of our Golf Club.  Bring your own gloves and secateurs to do this little job.  PEEEERRRRRLLLLEEEEAAASSSEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! help Barb out (Please?)
