Berrima District Sports Association Senior Team of the Year" for 2016! 
​Congratulations to all the players of the Bowral Golf Club.

JUBILEE FOURSOMES – Thursday 23rd February:
Fourteen teams contested this Annual event – winners with 73 ½ were Jan Deane and Anne Geddes. Congratulations ladies!
Runners Up were Jill Scott and Susan Harrison with 76 nett.

The top 8 pairs now qualify for Match Play Knockout games. The draw has been done and is in the locker room – also in the attached link

Please make sure you read the Match Play conditions of Play and schedule your matches well before the cut-off dates, as extensions are unlikely to be granted. (Note that No Match play is allowed on Thursday’s competition day!)

TUESDAY  STABLEFORD:
Jan Deane (36 points) and Shirley Brereton (37pts) were the Division 1 and 2 winners on Tuesday. Carol Warner won the pro-pin!
SATURDAY PAR:
Carole Turpie was the best of 10 players on Saturday with -1.
 
GOULBURN OPEN DAY:
Pam Barker and Helen Chadwick represented the club at this very popular day out on Wednesday – Pam was Runner up in Division 2 with 93/nett73, so well done again Pam!
 
A few people have been asking what Next Tuesday’s game is…
It’s just a FUN competition: Teams of 3 – 1,2,3 COUNTDOWN
-Stableford Scoring - 1st Hole –Best 1 Score, 2nd Hole – 2 Best Scores, 3rd Hole – all 3 scores, 4th Hole –Best 1 Score again, etc. Clear as Mud??!!
 
 
BERRIMA DISTRICT SPORTS AWARDS Presentation Dinner  - Friday 24th February at 6.30 for 7pm…Updates will be posted ASAP after the event!

CLUB  MEDAL, PRESIDENT’S CUP AND GOLF NSW MEDAL ROUND 1:
 
Congratulations to our first Medal winners of the year:
 
Division 1: Pam Barker (96/76)          Runner Up: Barbara Clayton (78 c/b)
Division 2: Jane Clifford (107/77)          Runner Up: Ellen Neale (78)
Division 3: Shirley Brereton (112/78)                Runner Up: Anne Vitou (79)
 
Scratch Winners were:
Helen Martin (96 c/b), Ellen Neale (104) and Shirley Brereton (One Ball each).
 
Pam, Jane and Shirley also won their respective Divisional Veterans prizes (an actual ball!).
The extra competition of the day was “Count your Putts”,  which were won by Pam Barker (26), Ellen Neale (31) and Leah Boyd (31 c/b).
 
Balls went to 78 (c/b). Full results are on the Club website.
Jane Clifford won the $84 Pro-pin, Jack-potted from last week!
 
TUESDAY 3BBB STABLEFORD:
Apologies to the winners and runners up for this event, as there was a mistake in the prizes awarded.
Winners : Jan Ferguson, Chris Hill and Jill Scott should have a $15 voucher
Runners Up: Sue Flaxman, Faye Frith and Jane Clifford should have a $10 voucher. The adjustments will be made to your accounts very shortly! Apologies once again...
 
JUBILEE FOURSOMES – Next Thursday 23rd February:
Entries are online, and full conditions of Play (including dates for the Knockout Rounds) are on the link on the RHS of this website page and on the Locker room noticeboard.
As this is a Qualifying Round (top 8 pairs go on to Match Play Knockout games), you will be asked on the day to mark your card if your team is available/eligible to play in the Knockout rounds. The draw will be done after results are finalised on the day.

Play in the Donkin Cup Trophy (Round 1) today was heavy going on a wet course, despite the sunshine (The DSR rating was 76).
Congratulations to Helen Martin with 30 points, from Sandy Short, with 28 pts on a C/b.
Carol Warner won NTP 2nd shot on 15th. The Pro-pin was not won and jackpots to next week ($42).
Round 2 of the Donkin Cup will be held later in the year (August).
 
Club and Golf NSW Medal Round 1:
The Draw for next Thursday 16th February, is now available online and in the locker room.
Late entries can be accepted by the proshop or the Captain, and will be fitted in by division or at the end of the field.
 
A Sign Up Sheet is in the locker room for the Annual Challenge Bowl Singles Knockout, conducted during the year from March to August/September. All players are eligible (except Provisional members, as it is a Trophy event) – the draw will be done on 2nd March.
Don’t forget to sign up for the CSGA Open Day at Federal GC on Monday 27th February. And also to register for the CSGA Player’s Award – the link is on the RHS of this website.

Thank you to everyone for making yesterday such a good day!
The ‘weather gods’ smiled on us and we could enjoy a cool and dry day for a very pleasant change!
I really appreciated your cooperation in regards to arranging/rearranging the teams – it’s quite a logistical challenge sorting out an event like the President v Captains Match…but we all looked good in bright yellows and many shades of blue, and for the third year in a row, the Presidents team won (418-403 points). 
Maybe next year it will be the Captain’s teams turn!??
We hope you all enjoyed the lunch menu and the added company of the 6 visitors from RMC GC, who said they had been made to feel ‘very welcome’!

CAPTAIN’S TEAM : Leonie Carroll and Jane Clifford (41 pts)
Jill Scott won the $54 Pro-pin, Jenny Grant the NTP on 6th and Ellen Neale the Drive and Pitch on 15th.
 
PENNANTS:
We still need more Players to join the Pennants team for 2017.Games start in March (3rd) and continue until May, mostly on Fridays. A sign up sheet with more info is in the locker room. Or talk with Jane Clifford...
 
OPEN EVENTS coming up in February – sign up sheets are in the locker room for GOULBURN OPEN DAY ON Wednesday 22ND; and CSGA OPENING DAY at Federal Golf Club on Monday 27th February. (See link to CSGA Players Award on the right !)

The CSGA Diabetes trophy is played for on this day – our eligible entrants are Anne Geddes, Toni Clarke and Anne Vitou, so please sign up to play!
We can work out some car-pooling arrangements for anyone wanting to share the travel.
SIGN UP SHEET: The first MEDAL round, and First round of GOLF NSW and Presidents Cup event is on 16th February - Entry is via the sheet only, the draw will be done after next Thursday's play.

BERRIMA DISTRICT SPORTS AWARDS:
Two nominations have been entered from BGC – SENIOR TEAM of the YEAR 2016, the Bowral Women’s Team (Pennants and Canberra Shield); and
CLUB PERSON OF THE YEAR : Pam Barker.
The awards are voted on and presented at the BDSA Dinner at Mittagong RSL on Friday 24th February 2017 at 7pm. We will be putting together a table and would love as many players and partners to join us. Tickets are $45 – please let Pam or me know by Thursday if you would like to come.
