Berrima District Champion of Champions @ MOSS VALE 
 
Pam Barker represented us in this event today, ably assisted by her caddy Carol Warner. Highlands Club Champion Debbie Finlayson, playing off 11, took out the event, which was played as a stroke round. 
 
Pam also played at Murrumbidgee GC on Sunday, one of eight club champions from CSGA clubs. That event was one by the representative from Gunghalin Lakes, playing from a handicap of 1, who shot a par round of 73!
Well done, Pam to compete in such illustrious company as our representative!

Farewell to Stephne Whiteway: It was wonderful to see so many of our ladies at Stephne Whiteway’s funeral celebration and farewell today. We will miss Stephie very much as a friend, fellow golfer, and all-round fun and generous person. Our sincere condolences go to Toni and all her family.

CLOSING DAY GOLF, LUNCH, PRESENTATIONS
AND FASHION PARADE etc! - THURSDAY 8TH DECEMBER
 
Don’t miss our annual closing day event, traditionally a day of real fun and laughter to mark the end of our main golf events for the year.
 
Golf is an Irish Stableford game, with1 player to score on ‘odd’ holes, and two on the ‘evens’. The Sign up sheet is in the locker room, but names will go on line tomorrow. It is assumed all golfers will be staying for lunch.
​ Shotgun start, 830 for 9am...
 
Cost for golf and two-course lunch is  $31, payable at the Pro shop.  
 
Bookings for lunch only are on the sheet in the locker room, names by Friday please (Payable at the Bar- $16).
 
Sandy Short will be compering a Fashion Parade of Resort wear from her new shop….”Sandy Short Sports”, featuring fashion models of the highest quality!!

GOLF RESULTS:

Tuesday : No play at Bowral today, with respect for Stephne. 
Thursday:
Par was the event of the day, with best scorer being Helen McCathie, our Division 2 winner on +2. Chris Hill was best in Division 1 with a Square.
 
Saturday Golf:
Michelle Di Natale won Saturday’s Stableford with 31 points. Well done, Michelle, playing in ‘the big league’ and reducing her handicap yet again!

COMBINED CHRISTMAS CHEER EVENT AT MOSS VALE GC:
It is most unfortunate that this event clashes with Stephie's funeral, and despite negotiations with the other clubs, it has proved impossible to change arrangements at this stage of the year. 
​
However, there is still the option for any members who wish to play and enjoy lunch and some fun with the other lady golfers from the Highlands and Moss Vale to enter - the sheet is still in the locker room, but I need to know by end of the day tomorrow, Thursday 24th , PLEASE! Golf and Lunch - $30. 

MICHELLE JUST KEEPS ON WINNING:
Our new member Michelle di Natale keeps on winning and reducing her handicap. Michelle has gone from 45 to less than 30 in a matter of months. Well done Michelle, we are all thrilled for you. Keep up the good swinging!

We have been informed today that the funeral for Stephne Whiteway will be held on Tuesday 29th November at 11am at ST Thomas Aquinas Church, Bendooley St, Bowral.

It is with a sad heart that I wish to inform you of the passing of our friend and fellow member Stephne WHITEWAY yesterday evening (18/11/2016).

Funeral details will be shared as soon as the details are known.

Tuesday Golf: 30 players enjoyed the fun of a ‘coloured ball’ event, with President Carole bringing in her teammates Sue Flaxman and Rosemary Downing with an amazing 69 points!
Chris Hill is a consistent pro pin winner, but you have to be ‘in it to win it’ , so “Go” Chris- $39 for your efforts… 
Thursday Golf:
Today was a beautiful day for golf - 21 players enjoyed another 3 Ball team event - Rosemary being a winner again with Jane Clifford and Faye Frith, this time.
Wendy Burke took away the pro pin money, and Faye was NTP on 12th.

 CSGA Closing Day at RMC Golf Club:
Pam and Chris Hill represented us there today- here is Pam's report:

We won $30 each which paid for our day.
The course was immaculate, food good -a  smorgasbord - lovely day altogether.

​Tuesday Golf:
Only four players were patient enough for the late start due to the Veterans Golf Carnival…!  Jane Clifford won with 34 points.
 
Thursday Golf: Medal of Medals:
And Jane carried her good form over to today’s Medal of Medal Stroke round to be awarded the major Medal and have her name on the Honour board for the year! Congratulations, Jane…74 nett.
 
Division 1 winner was Chris Hill (net 70) from Anne Geddes (75).
Jane, of course was Division 2 winner, from Anne Vitou, also 75 nett.
 
NTP on 12th (2nd shot) winners were Barbara Clayton (Div 1) and Anne Keys (Div 2).  The $45 Pro pin was taken out by Pat Donoghue.
 
Canberra Shield:
IN CASE YOU HAVEN’T HEARD, WE WON THE CANBERRA SHIELD FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER (in 17 years of being contested) AT MURRUMBIDGEE GC LAST THURSDAY.
It is on display in the member’s room, but will shortly go off for engraving before it will be properly displayed for the coming year!
 
Captains v Captains Match – Sunday 6th November 2, 2016
 
Unfortunately we had a small turnout, and not enough ‘firepower’ this year to retain this trophy. Well done to Captain Paul Carroll, whose team narrowly won this year by just three Stableford points!!
 
LEGACY DAY –SATURDAY 19TH NOVEMBER
 
Please join in this fundraiser for the Club’s Major Charity, Legacy. All funds go to the local Legacy branch assisting families of deceased servicemen and women. Bookings are open to all members for golf, and bookings for the dinner need to be made ASAP for catering purposes.

Today our team of 8 “magnificent match players” took on the best there was from all the CSGA clubs trying to win the Canberra Shield at Murrumbidgee Country Club…. 
It’s CONGRATULATIONS TO :
Pam Barker, Barbara Clayton, Jenny Grant, Leonie Carroll, Sue Harrison, Jane Clifford, Jane Whittaker, Pat Donoghue and Jill Scott who have WON THE CANBERRA SHIELD FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER (in 17 years of being contested). ​
​All players won their matches, to record an impressive clean sweep of 16 points! 
​
CSGA District Medal Representatives: We have another winner!! 

On Monday we had three club members compete in the CSGA District Medal playoffs at Belconnen GC, and our newly crowned Club Champion Pam Barker took out another big win!
Pam now goes to the State Medal Playoff at Stonecutter’s Ridge GC on 14th December. Congratulations and good luck Pam!
Leonie Carroll and Anne Vitou also performed well but couldn’t match Lyn Hatton from Moss Vale and Barbara Selleck from Royal Canberra who won on the day.

 
Melbourne Cup Winners:
Sue and Gary Harrison  and Pat and Pat Donoghue with 52 points!
Runners Up: Shirley and John Brereton, Fran and Graham White on 51 points.
NTP and Pro Pin were cleaned up by the Burke family, congratulations Wendy and Kevin!
