Congratulations to our President, Carole - we now have a representative on the Board!!  I am sure all our members will be delighted to know we now have representation in the future decision making of matters affecting our club.  Well done Carole!!


Invitation Day:
Despite another very "ordinary" day weatherwise, we did manage to hold this annual event.  There were a number of cancellations (no carts were allowed), but we still managed to have almost 30 players.  The visitors enjoyed themselves, and probably more so when we cut out the 8th and 9th holes.  We also welcomed new member Jan Deane and hope that you get the chance to meet and play with her at some future date.


Tuesday 5th May:
After a number of requests this event has been changed to a stableford!!  No need to battle a par round on our soaking course............

Invitation Day - Thursday 30th April:


The forecast tomorrow is dubious at this stage.  Should we be unable to play we will be happy to welcome members and their guests at the clubhouse mid morning where games can be played and lunch enjoyed.  
Should carts not be allowed, we will endeavour to adjust the teams to ensure that all players can compete.  A "swinger" will be allowed should this be required.

We will keep our fingers crossed in the meantime for a beautiful day!!

Pennants Update:
On Friday the Bronze Shield team travelled to Goulburn to play RMC in the semi finals of their group.  The team consisted of Pam Barker, Anne Geddes, Carole Turpie, Helen Chadwick and Susan Harrison.  Unfortunately the team went down to RMC 4/1.  A disappointing finish to the season but quite an achievement to qualify for the semis - no one can remember this result before (at least in recent history).  The above players were supported during the season by Faye Frith, Toni Clarke, Jane Clifford, Jane Whittaker, Rosemary Downing and Anne Keys.
Thanks should also go to the drivers who made themselves available to tirelessly drive the players to Canberra and surrounds.
Thanks also to Barbara Clayton (and in her absence Jane Clifford) for coordinating the players each week.
Well done team!!

Also on Friday the Bowral/Goulburn CSGA Plate team played their final match of the season against Moss Vale at Murrumbidgee.  We were the victors by 3 matches to 2 - a great way to finish the season, but too little too late!  Thank you to the players who made themselves available - Barbara Clayton, Jenny Ogg, Ellen Neale, and myself - we travelled to the ACT for 7 out of the 8 weeks.  The combined team was a success  and we forged even better friendships with our Goulburn team members.

Rain, Rain, rain - 


As a result of the above, and the postponement of our Medal round today, we have rescheduled this event to the 18th June - this will be held in conjunction with the Hastings and Meg Clarke qualifying round.

INVITATION DAY:
So far the entries for this annual event are very disappointing.  We wish to advise that our member teams are welcome to play on this day - if you don't have a visitor to join you, just come anyway!!  After all this rain, any fine day is not to be missed..........

Challenge Bowl:
The first round is now complete - please organise to have the next round played by the 2nd June.

Saturday Pro Pin:
This "prize" is now only available to the male members of the club.  

Wouldn't life be dull without a few changes ..?!

Due to the course closure, the medal round scheduled for Thursday will need to be rescheduled, at a date to be advised.

There will be games etc at the clubhouse from 1030am for anyone wishing to enjoy some camaraderie and frivolity, with lunch at the club strongly encouraged to support it through these wet days of no golfing!

Also, next Thursday is an Invitation Day , so please find someone to invite (teams of two, playing in fours) to try and catch up on our missed golf! Entry is via the computer.

BRONZE SHIELD PENNANTS:
I can now confirm that the semi final of the Bronze Shield Pennants will be played at Goulburn Golf Club this Friday at 10am versus RMC GC.

The team has changed due to the withdrawal of Toni due to illness. Sue Harrison has been added to the team.

We are thrilled that our Pennants team in the Bronze Shield Competition has reached the semi-finals, for possibly the first time ever...still to be confirmed from club records!

BRONZE SHIELD PENNANT TEAM MAKES SEMI FINALS!


After travelling to Canberra yesterday to play at Royal Canberra, it is fantastic to report that our Shield team recorded a win against Gunghalin Lakes to qualify them to play in the semi final next week at Fairbarn.  They will play RMC and a win will result in a final playoff the following week.
This team has been well supported during the past six weeks with some early morning drives to Canberra to compete.
I am sure the whole club wishes them well next Friday, and we look forward to sharing some celebratory "drinks" in the near future.

CSGA PLATE:
Our combined team played today, in less than perfect conditions, at Moss Vale.  Unfortunately we once again went down 3/2 - this time to Royal Canberra.  We have one more match to go - at Murrumbidgee next week but even a win will not get us into any of the final matches, so our season is almost at an end.
As with the Shield team there has been a lot of travel to Canberra over the past six weeks, and the support of the players is much appreciated.

Our golf this week has certainly showed some mixed "form".  It would appear that the scores on our course are testing at present, whilst our away games have returned some good results.  It's all "character building"................ (apparently)

Pennants Results:
GOOD NEWS this week with both teams having wins against Federal!!

Bronze Shield played at Gunghalin Lakes today with a 4 to 1 win.  Very well done to all who travelled to Canberra for a very long day.  The journey home was just that much sweeter!  Only one more match to go.
CSGA Plate - our combined team with Goulburn played at Royal Canberra yesterday and came away with a win 3-1/2 to 1-1/2.  Two more matches to go.

Unfortunately our change of fortune may be a little late but we are showing very good promise for the 2016 season.
