Great interest was shown in The Summer Aggregate Competition, with 15 Women finishing with 6 scores. Congratulations to our winner Vice-Captain Jan Tuite.
Barbara Clayton and Leonie Carroll played the final of the Challenge Bowl on Monday in the rain, well done girls. I understand it was an awfully close match and congratulations to Barbara on winning.
Opening Day 2nd February is fast approaching and it is great to see so many names already down to play and have lunch. If you would like to come for lunch only and cannot get to the Club to put your name on the list, please telephone me and I will add your name in.
We shall do the draw on Friday 27 January, so please get your name in soon. Remember to wear Yellow for the Captains Team and Blue for the Presidents Team.
It will be a fun day, with lunch and presentations. We will also be collecting the annual fees payment of $30, for the following:
NSW Bowl $5. Goodwill Plate$2, Diabetes Trophy $2, Club Medals $5, Challenge Bowl $5, Eclectic $6 and VWGA $5. We will have the EFPOS machine available to collect payments. This eliminates having to pay each time. These are fun events which brings us together and challenges our golfing abilities. I know last year was a problem in getting the matches played, but his year will be better so please keep entering as these events are a mainstay of our completions.
The Pennants sign up sheets are in the locker room. This year we will be hosting all 3. The Plate commences on 24th February at Gungahlin, The Bronze on 3rd March at Queanbeyan, and the Brindabella 5th March at Bowral. We are sharing with Fairbairn for the Brindabella.
We are in the CSGA region and as such should support their events, as much as possible, we are also extremely fortunate to have Barbara Clayton on the Committee.
The CSGA Open Day is on 16th February at Yovani. The Flyer is on the Board in the locker room. Some of our members have already entered, and it would be great if we could have some more interest.
The course is in great condition and with the sunny days it is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon, so hope to see many more golfers , and in particular the new members out having a round or too.
Until next time enjoy your golf.
Ellen
