The 6th Rd of the Golf NSW Medal & Club Medal was played last Thursday, winners are :
Div 1. Carol Warner 71 R/up Jill Malone 75
Div 2. Wendy Burke 72 r/up Susan Flaxman 75
Div 3. Di Lindsay 75 R/up Jane Whittaker 79 .
This now completes the Medal Rounds.

Congratulations To Carol Warner & Shirley Brereton on winning the Jubilee Foursomes.

Most match play competitions are coming to the finals. Thanks to all for playing your rounds on time and good luck to all finalists.

Tomorrow is the first round of the Foursomes Championships. It's great to see so many pairs, 21 in total. Meeghan Bourne is looking for a partner if there is anyone looking to play. Remember the lowest marker determines which division you play in. Handicaps will remain the same for both days.
Div 1. 0-22.5 Div 2. 22.6 - 30.5 Div 3. 30.6 - 54.
Also Tee off Alternate Tees (odds or evens) and swap Tees in Round 2.

FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS & SUGGESTIONS

The Foursomes Championships are coming up. Rd 1 Thursday 31 August, Rd 2. Thursday 7 September. It is pleasing to see 43 entries to date. Fran Dubiez is looking for a partner, so if you would like to play and looking for a partner, please put your name down with Fran.

We played the Unity Cup against Moss Vale on Tuesday 15/8 ,6 teams played resulting in a win for Moss Vale. Next year it will be played at Bowral, hopefully we shall have more teams.

The final round of the Donkin Cup was played on Thursday 17/8, with some very good scores. Jan Ferguson won the day with 37 pts on a count back from Jan Tuite & Sue Olson. Congratulations to Sue Olson on winning the Donkin Cup with 2 very consistent rounds of 36 & 37. NTP hole 14, 2nd shot Pam Barker Pro Pin 14th hole Ellen Goodwin.
Monday 21/8 & Tuesday 22/8 the CSGA Championships will be played at Bowral & Moss Vale. Good luck to the few Bowral Women who have entered.

The Womens Committee would like to make the presentation session after golf more interesting and informative to encourage all to stay and be involved. We are providing a Suggestions Box for members to write suggestions as to how to improve their golfing experience. Suggestions will be vetted and the most interesting or relevant would be discussed at presentations. This hopefully will encourage members to stay. Suggestions can be about anything to do with golf. We realize sometimes it is a long wait from the first to last golfers to come in, this will make the wait a little more interesting.

May I offer our warm thoughts and condolences to Shirley Brereton on the loss of her dear husband, John, after a long illness. It is lovely to have Shirley back playing with us this week. Our condolences also go to a member that not many of us have yet met, Marianne Lampe, whose husband died recently, and we are hopeful that Marianne will be able to join us back on the golf course soon. Last Thursday 3 August we played the Bowral Open Championships, combined with a celebration of Wattle Day. The weather was perfect and it was lovely to welcome 24 visitors from 10 different clubs to join us on that day, with Cowra being the largest group. The visitors thought Bowral course was in great condition, very much enjoyed the lunch and then were looking forward to some good shopping in Bowral, especially at Hem and Birdhouse, with Di Lindsay having organised a tempting discount for them. Di Lindsay also admitted to recently celebrating her 85th birthday and managing to score 85 Nett that day. With much applause, a special prize was in order! There were lots of prizes awarded that day, with the main ones being the Scratch Championships. The Open Championship was won by Virginia Wozniak, Division 2 by Ellen Goodwin and Division 3 by Anne Coates from Cowra. Special mention to a new Bowral member, Sophie Rankine, who won the overall Nett with a lovely score of 68. Congratulations to these players, whose photos are below. On Saturday 5 August, Sophie Rankine continued her great scoring winning the Women’s Stroke event with a Nett 69 (well done Sophie). And on Tuesday 8 August, back-on-form Shirley Brereton scored a wonderful individual score of 43 Stableford points, while she and her partner Margaret Anthony won the Aggregate event with a score of 73. Runners-up with a score of 68 points were Christine Levy and Carol Warner. Next week, on Tuesday 15 August, teams of two from Bowral will travel to Moss Vale to compete in the Unity Cup. We wish them good weather and good luck. The following week will see the CSGA Championships being held at Bowral on Monday 21 August and Moss Vale on Tuesday 22 August. Good luck to all competitors.
