Women's Golf News

The golfing year is winding down, with just 5 players on Tuesday, and 12 for today’s Stableford events.
Anne Geddes was Tuesday’s winner with 31 points.
Today Ellen Neale was victorious with 39 points from Jane Clifford, who also collected the Jackpotted Pro pin of $42.
Junior player Michelle Di Natale joined the ladies today and won the NTP 2nd shot on the 12th hole, as well as scoring 32 points (handicap 17!).
 
On Tuesday, we delivered the gifts to the Club staff members on behalf of the women members – Gift cards, beer, wine, chocolates, homemade cakes and shortbread made their way to the Greens staff, the Pro shop staff, the bar and kitchen staff as well as Managers, Kevin and Tim on your behalf.
We are very appreciative of their support for our events during the year and the service they provide to us.

Thursday Stableford: 
Our winner today was Susan Harrison (34 points) and Runner up Chris Hill (33 pts).
Sue also won on Tuesday with 37 points!
Second shot NTP on 4th was a visitor Di Lindsay, who with her sister Sonia are regular visitors to our club from NSW Golf Club. 
Warm days like Thursday mean lots of cold water, cool towels, and electrolyte drinks! Ladies, be prepared...!
REMINDER: it is really important during these summer months (as always!) to extend the courtesy of notifying the pro shop and your partners if you are unable to play. A quick phone call or text is all that is required. Players should also be in the habit of arriving at the pro shop at least 15 minutes earlier than their start times .  In case of withdrawals, players can then move up to fill vacant spots.

What a fitting finale to our year of golf yesterday - Great weather, excellent course conditions, delicious lunch, including Pam's pudding and accompaniments, followed by Fashions and entertainment from Sandy and her colleagues, starring two of our own (I swear they are professional...) models, Anne and Jan!
And some major trophy presentations to finish up!
Thank you to everyone who helped make yesterday a success - Committee members Pam, Helen, Carol Humphreys, Jane, Stuart (pro shop), Tim and the bar staff, and Regina for the lovely lunch. Not to mention Sandy and her fashion wear that we all would love to own and wear - I might have to put a word in to "Santa" for some of those gorgeous things!!

​Winners of the day's golf were Leah Boyd, Cathy Maule and Julie Jeffrey (63 pts), from Marion Tyree, Faye Frith and Margaret Horwitz (62pts). What a way to say farewell to Bowral GC for Leah as she departs for Sydney shortly. We also welcomed three new players  yesterday- Sue Foster, Jan Tuite and Ruth Bailey, please make yourselves known to them if you see them around. 

Winners of extra competitions on the day were Helen Chadwick, the Straightest drive AND the NTP on 15th (2nd shot), while Anne Geddes and Jane Clifford won the Divisional Longest drives on 18th.
BEST DRESSED TEAM was Anne Keys, Jan Ferguson and  Rosemary Downing - photos below! Some others earned "Highly Commended" for their efforts!
The raffle was well supported, thank you all for your generosity - a carton of beer has been passed on to the Greens staff from the Women members already, and further gifts will be purchased for the bar staff and pro shop staff shortly. Thanks to the generous committee members who donated the wine for the raffle prizes!

​It’s great to be back and a HUGE thank you to Jane Clifford for her fabulous work in my absence!
 
Only eight players took to the field today. The conditions were actually very pleasant, a bit cool for a “Summer’s” Day, but no rain and not too wet underfoot. Cathy Maule with 32 points was the winner, from Jenny Ogg (31).
The pro-pin wasn’t won so will jackpot to next week.
 
THURSDAY is our CHRISTMAS CLOSING Day- a day of ‘fun golf’, a celebratory 2-course lunch, drinks, presentations of trophies, with a Fashion Parade to finish…
 
Start time is 9am shotgun start, playing an Irish Stableford in teams of three over 16 holes (we won’t play holes 8 and 9), one score on holes 1,4,7,10,13,16, two scores on holes 2,5,11,14,17, and three scores on holes 3,6,12,15,18.
 
Lunch is a Christmas themed “Grazing Table”, which the catering staff always presents beautifully, with plenty of lovely options to choose from! A “special” Christmas Dessert will follow the Presentation of daily results, the “Best Dressed Team ” Prizes, and recent trophy event Presentations, including the Annual ‘Birdies and Gobblers’ awards.
All players have been included in the catering numbers for the lunch, unless you advised the Bar otherwise by Monday. Cost for lunch is $30, payable at the Pro shop with your Green fees. Lunch ONLY payments can be made at the Bar.
 
To complete our afternoon of ‘fun’, there will be a Sandy Short presentation of Leisure wear, starring ‘World Renowned’ models strutting the Bowral GC “catwalk”. Not to be missed!!!
