The Champion of Champions trophy was a hard-fought event. The three club champions were our own Anne Geddes, Nicole Bessant from Highlands and Jocelyn MacKay from Moss Vale.
Congratulations to Jocelyn who was the winner with a gross score of 81 from Nicole (85) and Anne (93)
Special thanks to Carol Humphreys for performing referee duties on the day.
Combined Christmas Cheer (Tuesday 28 November)
61 ladies played a 16-hole Irish Stableford in teams made up of players from each of Bowral, Moss Vale and Highlands. The weather was kind – while it looked threatening several times, the possible storm passed us by.
The winning team with 85 points was Pam Bowes (H 20), Winnie Foreman (MV 28), Margaret O’Farrell (MV 45) and Leonie Carroll (B 27).
To highlight just how close the results were the runners-up scored 84 points on a count-back. This team consisted of Sue Shallis (MV 19), Berneice Markwell (B 45), Anne Spiden (B 39) and Eileen Baker (H 30).
NTP 14th: Pam Barker (B)
Straight Drive 1st: Beverley Kemp-Clayton
NTP 2nd Shot 12th: Yanguen Skerman (MV)
While Sandi Short’s fashion parade could not go ahead as planned we were still entertained by a trivia competition presented by Chris Hill and Pam Barker. Thankyou Chris in particular for providing some very testing questions.
We are aware that some aspects of the day did not go as well as planned. Pam Barker our President would like to apologise to the members. Please be assured that your committee and the club staff are well aware of the problems and will address them in the future.
CSGA Gala Day (Thursday 23 November)
This annual event was held at Yass and this year’s theme was “Cowboys”. Pam Barker and Sue Flaxman flew the flag for Bowral but unfortunately were not able to bring home any trophies. Those rifles slung over your backs were probably a bit of a hindrance!
Prosper Ellis Salver (Thursday 16 November)
27 players competed in this single stroke event. This winner this year was Ellen Neale (26) with a wonderful nett 67. What a way to come back to golf.
Wendy Burke (27) was runner-up with a nett 73.
Closing Day (Thursday 7 December)
Make sure your entries are in for this fun day. Are your costumes ready yet?
Golf is a 9am shotgun start. Bookings can be made online. The stableford event is a 1, 2, 3 countdown in teams of 3.
Lunch is $30 and will be a grazing table to be followed by Pam’s special Christmas Pudding. If you are playing golf you will pay for lunch in the pro-shop at the same time you pay your competition fee ($15 golf & $30 lunch = $45). If you will be attending only the lunch please pre-book and pay your $30 at the bar.
After lunch there will be trophy presentations and Sandi Short’s deferred fashion parade.
Should be a great day!
