How good is the news that Darryl will be available for lessons as of 25th of March!
If you feel like your swings a little wild or 3 putts are happening too often then it might be time to book a lesson with Darryl.
PENNANTS NEWS
In preparation for the Match at Gungahlin Lakes on Friday 15th a few of the team members went out to Mt Broughton and got a few pointers from Kon Fondas.
The team this week: Sally-Anne Ferguson, Chris Levy, Jan Tuite, Jane Clifford and Kate Wegmuller. Although we all went out strong the Royal Canberra team had us on the run for much of the game. Unfortunately, we have to report a loss this week of 4 to 1. The course is long and has a number of very challenging holes with bunkers everywhere! I think I hold the record for going in the most bunkers on any 1 hole! 3 bunkers all side by side, I just hit from one bunker into the next and then hit the repeat button! We still enjoyed the day and found Royal Canberra to be good company.
On a more positive note, the pizzas after the game were great.
Saturday 9th. The course is looking green and lush at the moment, and we have now lost our Preferred Lies! 10 of us WG's (Women Golfers) were out enjoying the ideal golf conditions.
1st was Alexandra Bokor a visitor from Pymble Golf Club, with a score of 33.
2nd was Michelle Alcock with a score of 32.
3rd was Lyn Soleness with a score of 31.
All very close scores. Ellen Neale was the only WG that got a BIRDIE, well done. Ellen found her BIRDIE on the 13th Hole.
Sunday 10th The field was quite small and only 2 WG's were in the comp.
1st was Katrina Onishi with a fabulous score of 40 points. This was the highest score of the day. Great game Katrina!
Tuesday 12th everyone was out for a game today and it was wonderful to have a field of 31 players this week. Because of the number of players, we had 1st and 2nd Division winners this week.
Div 1
1st was Helen Balfe with a great score of 39 points. Helen is definitely finding her form!
2nd was Jan Tuite (me) with a score of 35 points.
Div 2
1st was Meeghan Bourne on CB with a score of 29.
2nd was Pat Donoghue also with 29 points.
NTP was taken out by Sophie Rankine
The Pro Pin was won by Jan Tuite!
I was very excited, don't we all love it
when we have a good day out on the
course!
A Grade
1st Suzanne Ayre with a net score of 72. This included BIRDIES on the 3rd & 12th Holes.
2nd Sophie Rankine with a net score of 73. Sophie had BIRDIES on the 12th, 13th, 17th & 18th Holes. I'm not sure if that is a record for the Women players but it definitely gives Sophie bragging rights for the week.
B Grade
1st Sue Harrison with a net score of 75.
2nd Jan Tuite (me again) with a net score of 78.
C Grade
1st Faye Frith with a net score of 97.
BIRDIES were also found Virginia Wozniak on the 12th Hole and Jan Ferguson on the 14th.
NTP Div 1 was Suzanne Ayre
NTP Div 2 was Jan Tuite (wow me again!)
Pro Pin was also taken out by Suzanne Ayre
Don't we all love having our name up in lights!
Look at you go girl!
1st Barb Mead with a great score of 22.
2nd Jenny Ogg with a very nice score of 15.
Saturday 16th 9 Women players in this comp. Weather was a little cooler than Thursday and I am sure it was a very good golfing day.
1st Sophie Rankine with a lovely score of 35, this included BIRDIES on the 5th & 15th Holes.
2nd Lyne Solness with a very nice score of 32.
3rd Julia Skamperle with a close score of 31.
Sunday 17th Here comes the rain! A few of us WG's had our names down to play today but we all pulled out. The rain was light for most of the morning, but it was constant. I think we decided it was best to leave the course free for the men, a number of whom did play.
Winners are Grinners!
Congratulations to all of this week's winners!
To everyone who got the BIRDIES, well done and don't forget to put your name on the BIRDIE board!
BIRDIES! It seems there are
more to be had on the back 9.
I am still looking for my BIRDIE!
26th March - we are still going to Wollongong. This is getting close so if you are interested in going to Wollongong and haven't put your name down, please do it this week.
As the course is now going to be open on the 26th we are running our first 9 Hole and 18-Hole competition on this day. If you want to play in the 9-hole comp you need to call the pro shop or send me a message and we will put you on the booking sheet.
19th March - Tuesday we play the 1st round of the Bowral Goulburn Shield match @ Bowral. This is Match Play so if any of the players are new to Match Play please read up on the rules or ask either myself or Chris Levy for some advice or assistance.
The draw is now up on the system and emails have been sent out to all the players.
If you are playing before the Shield players, please ensure you maintain a good pace of play and stay well ahead of the Teams. If you are playing after the Shield groups please be aware of the teams position so you are not hitting up on them or putting pressure on any of the players.
May you all play well and enjoy the day! I also hope you all win!
Did everyone receive my email regarding the change of date of the Greens Renovations and the need for us as a group to support the Tuesday comps?
If you didn't receive an email from me, please let me know so I can check to ensure all details are correct on my spreadsheet.
Thank you for reading my Blogs and don't forget to send any good photos or any interesting details of the games to me. I would love input from you.
Here's hoping the weather improves so we can all meet out on the course of course!
