Thursday 27th August - First Round Foursomes:
As the course has been closed tomorrow, the first round of the foursomes will now be held on Tuesday 1st September with the second round being played on Thursday 4th September.
The entries for tomorrow will be transferred to Tuesday but if you wish to make any changes, please contact the Pro Shop or go on line.
We hope this is not too convenient - but we can't control the weather!!

GOLF BY THE SEASIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!


As our greens are being cored on Tuesday 8th September, Chris Hill has organised for anyone interested to play at Gerringong - a course surrounded by ocean and mountains!
Details:
Course is booked from 10am
Cost $40 including cart (and you will need it!) - unless you are a mountain goat..
The makings of tea and coffee are available, but we will need to take our own lunch.
The trip through Jamberoo takes just over an hour.
A "competition" will be organised.

Thursday 20th August:
A superb day to play our Medal of Medals - and this was reflected in the scores!  After what seems like heavy winter conditions it is a delight to see some run on the course again............
Our Medal of Medal winner for 2015 is Pat Donoghue - well done Pat.  
Not only did Pat receive our silver medal but her name will appear on our new honour board which was shown for the first time yesterday.  This is the first time we have had a board for this event - as it is one of our major trophies for the year, we are now assured that our winners are"preserved for posterity".

Wattle Day - 13th August:
This was a very successful day with 48 players - including representatives from clubs in Sydney, Canberra and local.  
The winners:
Division 1 - Maggie McKenzie 30 pts, runner up-Pam Barker 28 pts
Division 2 - Sally Knackstedt 34 pts c/b from Susan Harrison
Division 3 - Pat Donoghue 35 pts runner up Noela McMurray 34 pts
The pro pin of $99 was won by Pam Barker

Long Drive winners - C Hill, J Ogg, E Barker
Well done to all winners including the winner of the "free" raffle - Helen Chadwick!

2BBB Playoff Queanbeyan:
Ann Vitou and Pat Donoghue represented our club on Friday but unfortunately will not be going on to Bonville this year!!  The experience, however, was one to be remembered............

Saturday Golf:
There were 12 players on a very good day, playing stableford.  The winner was Jan Dean on 35 pts/cb from Pam Barker.  NTP winner - Helen Chadwick.

Hole Repair:
You may have noticed that the green staff place a sign for hole repair on various holes during the week.  Would you please be aware of this sign when you see it and do whatever you can to fill divots (yours and others) on the designated hole.  This does not mean however, that you can ignore the other 17!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rules Seminar:
A Rules of Golf Seminar has been organised for the 14th October at 6.15pm at the Club.  Please register your interest in this seminar - a notice will be placed in the Locker Room for names.

A very busy golf week this week both within the club and with representative golf at Moss Vale and Royal Canberra.


Saturday Golf:
The winner of the stroke round was Faye Frith with 75 net, with the runner up being Stephne Whiteway with 77 net.  NTP was not won.

Tuesday Golf:
Even though we had 10 players at Moss Vale, there was a field of 15 players competing in a single stableford.  The winner was Carol Parnell with 36 points and the runner up was Pam Barker on 31 points on a countback.  Carol also won the NTP.  The DSR on the day was 73.

Thursday Golf:
A field of 21 players played a par round.  It was pleasing to see that all the wind had helped to dry out the course a little.  Division 1 winner was Sally Knackstedt with square and the runner up was Helen Chadwick with -1.
Division 2 winner was Cathy Maule with +1 on a countback from Shirley Brereton. Wendy Burke (again!!) won the pro pin - $18.. not much but still a good return on investment!!

Challenge Bowl:
Our team of four (Barbara Clayton, Pam Barker, Jane Clifford and Anne Keys) travelled to Royal Canberra for this annual event.  They competed against 18 other clubs from around the state, and did extremely well to finish 4th in the team competition with a score of 91.  How good is that??  Pam also came third in Division 2.  The winners were Moss Vale with 97 so it was good to see the trophy come to the highlands............. Well done team!

Unity Cup v Moss Vale:
This was played on Tuesday, and try as hard as we might, Moss Vale came out the victors - what a week it has been for them!  A big thankyou to the 10 members who made themselves available to represent our club.

Wattle Day:
The draw for this event has now been done and is entered on the computer.  Any changes please through the pro shop.  Note - we are playing off the first and tenth.
