Thursday 29th July CHARITY DAY - 4BBB Iriish Stableford -Teams Winners- S. Whiteway, H. Chadwick, B. Lamb, C. Langby The power of positive thinking is great. Who would have thought on Wednesday afternoon that the Ladies Charity Day Golf on Thursday would have been played.
I thank everyone who attended for making this another successful Charity Day. Our Treasurer Judy tells me we raised over $6000- Thank you one and all. These days don't happen without a lot of work in the backroom - to the hard working committee, the members of BGC who supported the cause, shop keepers and business houses of Bowral - Thank you. The winners on the day were: Stephne Whiteway, Brian Lamb, Craig Langby and Helen Chadwick - well done. The team to represent Bowral at the Royal Canberra Challenge Bowl on Thursday 12 August has been chosen - Helen Martin, Jill Scott, Barbara Westwood and Beverley Clayton. Match play competitions are underway - Helen Martin was successful in defeating Genelle Almaide in the Hastings & Meg Clarke Trophy. Today the final of the Jubille Foursomes is being contested between Jenny Ogg and Suzie Crawford against Joan Polglase and Judy Windybank. The Medal of Medals is scheduled for Thursday 5th August - to all the medal winners I wish you success on the day. The yearly match between Bowral and Moss Vale (The Unity Cup) is being played on Thursday 19 August. This is a par round and is being played at Bowral. A sheet is available in the locker room if you wish to be included in the team. Team size will depend on the number of entrants from Moss Vale, but all ladies will get a game. Two teams are scheduled to play the district 3BBB at Murrumbidgee. We are awaiting confirmation form the CSGA as to tee times. I will keep you informed. The Captain v Captain Trophy event is being held on 29 August. some of the ladies will be enjoying their golf in Merimbula at this time. If you are in Bowral on the day please put your name in the computer - the event is a single stableford so you can still team up with your husbands / partners to play on the day. We need to win the trophy back. If the members put the trophy in their new cupboard we may never see it again. Good Golfing to all - remember the rules are there to make your game and your partners game an enjoyment. ![]()
