Women's Golf News

The Bronze Shield travelled to Federal Golf Club in ACT on Friday and came away with a Square result. Well done to all the players as you were probably more concerned with returning to BGC in time for the AGM.
The CSGA Plate team played at Mittagong against Moss Vale. Not only are Mossie a hard team to beat, Highland Golf Course is also hard to tame. Especially the greens. We tried our best but it was not good enough against Moss Vale. Thank you to all the ladies. Next week Bowral host the Bronze teams so we get a bye. The Plate team will play against Belconnen at Goulburn. I know Moss Vale are keen for us to beat the Magpies. We will do our best.
Tuesdays event is a Hartball Ambrose - a fun event with a twist. You will not know if you are a driver or a putter until you get to each hole. I hope you enjoy the fun.
I will retrun from the Capital on Thursday evening. If you have any problems please direct them to a committee member.

Ladies due to the Club Printer being out of commission we were not able to enter the results under the normal format.
The ladies played a Stableford Round on Thursday 28th April in 2 Divisions - 0-33 & 34 - 45.
24 Ladies braved the rain and mountain mist. Thank you.
Results were: Division 1 - Winner Joan Polglase - Joan is the recipient of Captain David Stanleys trophy which will be presented later in the year.
Runner Up - Jill Scott - Voucher
Diivision 2 - Marcia Jackson - Marcia won Carole turpies trophy.
Runner Up - Carol Turpie ( very inhouse ) - voucher
Balls were awarded down to 29 points: Anne Geddes, Sally Knackstedt,Wendy Ruttan,Irene Gilbert, Pam arker, Uschi Eriksson and Anne Vitou.
NTP prizes - 6th Hole ( 2nd shot) Carol Turpie, 14th Hole Irene Gilbert & 15th Hole (2nd Shot) Robyn McGinnes.
Tomorrow we have 2 pennant teams competing - Plate team at Highlands against Moss Vale and the Bronze Shield team at Federal against Queanbeyan. Good luck to all players.
Today we had the pleasure of being addressed by Sam Hunt, one of the nominees for the Board vacancies. Last week we were addressed by, Grant Blanchard, Bob Kemp,Frank Eggert, Ian McKenzie, Ralph Polglase, David Burgess, Bev Clayton and Sue Olson. Leigh Batchelor, standing for Treasurer unopposed also spoke to the ladies. It was interesting to hear their thoughts and desires for the Bowral Golf Club. Tomorrow we will know the results. Remember to have your say in voting you must be there. Ralph has offered to record "The Wedding' for those who miss the TV broadcast.
Next week I will be in Canberra competing in the Golf NSW Autumn meeting. I hope you all enjoy the novelty event on Tuesday - 3 person Hartball ambrose. Wendy will have to "How to Play & How to Score cards".
Last minute entries are being taken for the Mt Broughton rendezvous. The entry sheet is in the locker room.

Today both pennant teams faced the opposition to do battle for Bowral Golf Club.
The Plate team played against Goulburn at Moss Vale and despite beautiful weather we came away with our tail between our legs. The final score 3 Goulburn, 2 Bowral. Wendy Ruttan and Pam Barker were victors but I must congratulate all players for the fine challenge.
The Bronze Shield played at Queanbeyan against Royal Military College. This week we had 2 players standing in for absent members. Both these ladies, Beverly Kemp Clayton and Helen Chadwick were also victors. The final scores were 3 to RMC and 2 Bowral. Anne Keys is Captain of this team and I congratulations Anne and her team to keep the team together travelling  back and forth to the ACT each week .
