We really don't want or need any more wet weather, as the course seems to be drying out a little. I hope you all received my email re GUR on the 8th and 9th Holes - the local rule is on the noticeboard outside the Pro Shop.
How grateful we are that the Southern Highlands are not in lockdown, and only restrictions are in place. Please ensure that you wear masks in the clubhouse and the Pro Shop as well as checking in using the QR code. Stay safe and healthy.
The Royal Canberra Challenge Bowl is a very prestigious event on the golfing calendar. It is taking place on Thursday 29th July. Each year Bowral sends down a team of 4 to compete in this event.
Congratulations to the following women, who have been chosen (by the Match Committee) to represent BGC this year
Jane Clifford. Jill Malone. Ellie Scott and Suzanne Ayre.
RULES
I know that you are all sick and tired of me going on about rules, rules, rules, but one important rule came up this week which I would like to share - so please bear with me!
RULE 6.1B
Ball Must Be Played from Inside Teeing AreaWhen starting a hole, if you play a ball from outside the teeing area (including from a wrong set of tee markers on the same hole or a different hole):
Match Play. There is no penalty and you play your ball as it lies, but your opponent may cancel the stroke in which case you must play from inside the teeing area.
See Full Rules For more information on an opponent cancelling your stroke.
Stroke Play. You get the general penalty (two penalty strokes) and must correct the mistake by playing a ball from inside the teeing area. If you do not correct the mistake, you are disqualified.
See Full Rules For more information on the status of strokes made from outside the teeing area and the disqualification penalty for failing to correct the mistake.

WHITTAKER'S WINNERS
If you haven’t already got one of these amazing spot removers make sure you add it to a ‘must have’ list. Word of mouth it is a powerful tool and I know many of you may already have one but, if not, pop in to CELENA’S on High St Bowral (the little lane with Priceline on the corner if approaching from the car park). For just $10 this unusual stain remover may save you hundreds of dollars! I no longer have to reupholster my sofas and it’s a genius on carpet ... not to mention clothes. Make sure you read the directions and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Made in Tasmania!
- This is one of my favourite gift ideas and it has so many clever uses. It’s a faux clam shell from PILLOW TALK that comes in several sizes but I really like the smallest one. I looks great with soap or shells in it but think outside the square for other uses e.g. keys, cedar roses or even a small succulent (faux of course). Small $20.
- I wouldn’t want to let you down without suggesting an ALDI favourite of mine. The Salmon Wellington is a blessing to have in the freezer, but make sure you don’t overlook the small 2 pack one. It’s a godsend when you only want to cook for yourself or if us girls have been out to lunch and we don’t want dinner but we still need to cook for you know who! Only $5.00 for the 2 pack and it’s delicious.
Happy shopping and roll on Spring.

3 LAWS OF GOLF
LAW 1: No matter how bad your last shot was, the worst is yet to come. This law does not expire on the 18th hole, since it has the supernatural tendency to extend over the course of a tournament, a summer and, eventually, a lifetime.
LAW 2: Your best round of golf will be followed almost immediately by your worst round ever. The probability of the latter increases with the number of people you tell about the former.
LAW 3: Brand new golf balls are water-magnetic. Though this cannot be proven in the lab, it is a known fact that the more expensive the golf ball, the greater its attraction to water.
