THE BARBARA MC CARTHY MEMORIAL TROPHY was won by Jill Scott 1 up on the 19th and Runner up was Helen Chadwick.  A good game Jill.  Thank you to Referee

Well, the weather gave us a little bit of everything, yesterday - warm, then heavy rain, then cold but then cleared after a little thunder!

THE WINNERS OF THE 36 HOLE SCRATCH FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIP and DIVISION ONE, WERE:

Christine Hill and Bev Kemp Clayton with a total round of 193.  They will have their name on the Shield, received Vouchers and will have their name on the HONOUR BOARD.  CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BOTH -You played the game in good spirits and Pam Barker and myself were lucky to play with you for both the rounds and enjoyed watching some very good golf!


RUNNERS UP:  Toni Clarke & Anne Keys with total score of 197 - Vouchers.
Well done to you both.

Golf will be followed by Lunch (you order as usual), then the GENERAL MEETING will commence at 2.00pm in the Oxley Room.

There is an APOLOGIES List in the Locker Room for any one who cannnot attend.

Note No 2. :  Players down for this Sat event will notice I have changed it from a "Foursome" to a 4BBB event, the same as the men.  Also much easier.  Should there be an odd number due to someone pulling out, convert to a STABLEFORD event.

**   Jill Scott played very well in the 3 day CSGA Tournament in Canberra this week.

Jill was Day 2 - Div 2 Best Nett 18 Holes.
Also BEST NETT over 36 holes.  Pam Barker was in the Ball Rundown.  Chris Hill and I missed out on prizes but we all enjoyed the experience of wonderful ladies, challenging courses (Very!!!!) and I would urge others to consider going next year.

CONGRATULATIONS to PAM BARKER who was elected to the CSGA Committee as "General Committee Member".  Pam will be an asset for this Club and our District will be well informed of happenings.

Good Afternoon Ladies,

A whole week without a Blog - So here is to catching up on the News!

With coring of the Greens we have had several groups going off having a good time at other Courses:-

MOLLYMOOK GROUP led by Jill Scott had a  GREAT time with the Golfers at Mollymook Golf Club. - "They were very welcoming" said Jill.  The Golf was 
DISASTROUS said Sandy Short who has been prompted to book a lesson with Kevin!
Too much Food! -Too many Baileys! Accommodation was very clean and a colourful description of the bathroom was given by the ever "vescent" Leonie!  Everyone had a fun time and they were also happy to meet up with Jan Haskins (a former Bowral member) who is enjoying life down there.

THE BLUE MOUNTAINS Group left on Sunday and return tomorrow.  I am sure we will hear some stories out of that lot too, in due course - or maybe not!

PAM BARKER arranged 20 of the Ladies to play at KANGAROO VALLEY Golf Club.
A beautifully maintained and picturesque Course with lots of challenges.  It was a great experience.  Pam had prizes for just about everyone.  The winner on 30 points was Chris Hill and Runner Up was Carole Turpie with 28 pts.  Team Aggregate winners were Rosemary Downing & Carole Turpie - they received the Kangaroo Valley Cup.  There were nearest the Pins, Drive & Pitch and a Spoon for you know what - (I got cheated out of that one) - Many thanks to Pam for a very well organised day and I believe Chris Hill will be happy to organise next years' event!.

GOULBURN STABRO EVENT was attended by 2 teams of three from Bowral.  The Winners with some high handicappers came in with 62 points.  However, Pam, Chris and myself were very happy with 56 points. - H'caps of 19, 19 & 23 - but still managed 8th Hole - Par 3 (over water) with 2 in for 4 pointer.  Followed up by a great Eagle on 9th Hole - Par 5) 3 for 5 points. Both these putts were made by Pam with instructions from Coach Chris - My claim to fame was a 200 metre drive on the 1st.  ...........Team 2 with Anne Keys, Bev K C and Leah Boyd also played well to get 51 points.  Apparently, Leah was their secret weapon with some excellent putting!!!

FOUR GIRLS, JillS, Pam B, Chris H and Helen C are off to Canberra for 3 day CSGA Comp. with AGM and Presentation Dinner to attend.  Hopefully, BOWRAL girls will gain some prizes.

NOW TO RECENT RESULTS:-

Saturday - Individual PAR - 12 Ladies incl 3 visitors.
WINNER -STEPH WHITEWAY on h'cap of 19 with -2 (2 balls)
RUNNER UP - JULIA SKAMPERLE on h'cap 11 with -3 (1 ball).
LONGEST DRIVE - Susan Harrison - 1 ball.


THURSDAY - STABLEFORD - 2 PUTT RULE -NO H'CAPPING- 11 Players
WINNER - ROSEMARY DOWNING on h'cap of 33 with a good 37 points. $20.
BALLS TO:  Leonie C 35, Sandy S 34, and Carole T with 33 points.

GOOD AFTERNOON LADIES.

It was an interesting game of golf today with only 3 clubs and a Putter.  It made you think about each shot, didn't it?

It was really nice to get a game in at last!  - The Course looks and feels better than I thought it would, too.  Well done Green Guys!

CONGRATULATIONS TO BEV KEMP CLAYTON who defeated LEONIE CARROLL in the FINALS OF THE HASTINGS & MEG CLARKE MATCH PLAY FINALS. 2/1 on 17th.

Good Morning, Ladies

Tomorrow is a 3 Clubs Novelty Event.

However, I have been advised that it should read

3 CLUBS PLUS A PUTTER.!


You may wish to take other Clubs out of your bag that you are NOT going to use.

Or, some carry the 4 items with a dilly bag for tees etc.

Or, you may wish to put your 4 Clubs in the bag of the person you are playing with -with her 4 clubs.

Or, we can trust you to specify to your playing partners which Clubs you WILL be using and trust your honesty not to use any other than those nominated 3 clubs and Putter.

It is a fun day so don't stress over whatever........

Please remember to check the Course Conditions at 7.30am your Computer to see if Carts are allowed or not. (They are today, but, we know the rain is still hanging around).

Hello Ladies (and 1 special gentleman who catches up with our News! - Thanks Mr R).

Due to the continued wet Course Conditions, the FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS set down for today was postponed.  Originally, 6th and 13th November, was a n ew date.  However, the MATCH COMMITTEE met today before the Presentations and the following dates will apply:-

THURSDAY, 11TH SEPTEMBER - ROUND 1. subject to Course Conditions.
THURSDAY, 25TH SEPTEMBER - ROUND 2.    


THURSDAY, 2ND OCTOBER, - WILL BE KEPT ASIDE FOR 2ND ROUND SHOULD EITHER OF THE ABOVE DATES NOT BE PLAYABLE.


The Players have been entered on to the Computer in the Order it would have been today.


Our Apologies to anyone who cannot play both days.  You are eligible to play once for the Daily Handicapped Event for either day.


PLEASE CONSULT with your Partner and advise them of these new dates.

Prior to the Competition Results, our lovely Mother-to-be Kylie Bisby, was presented with her gifts and some fresh flowers.  Thank you for your donations totalling $295.  She received $100 Voucher from Target for baby clothes, $100 Voucher  from Woolworths for baby items like nappies, lotions, bottles etc and an $80 Voucher from GLAM for a Facial or Products for Kylie herself, plus the Flowers $50  - the difference was donated.
We are looking forward to seeing this new bub and we trust all will go well.

Hello Girls,

If you read last night's Blog, you will know what is planned.
However, please wait for the latest Condition Report just after
7.30am to see whether Carts are allowed or not. Then if you cant play
because you use a Cart, then let your playing partner know, please.

This way, most Players will probably play in the Stableford game, and we willsee you all in for Lunch.

I wish to advise that the COURSE CONDITIONS for tomorrows' event, the FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS, will have to be postponed due to the fact that it is "HIGHLY UNLIKELY" that carts will be allowed though the COURSE IS OPEN.
All Bunkers are GUR , Preferred lies apply.

As this decision affects several players and their Partners, I wish to advise that
the event will be moved to THURSDAY, 6TH NOVEMBER AND THURSDAY, 13TH NOVEMBER, 2014.

Tomorrows' game will be changed to a STABLEFORD event for those ladies who wish to play.

If you cannot play, please come in for cards etc., Lunch and Presentation to Kylie Bisby who will be leaving shortly to have her baby.

We are certainly praying and hoping for an Open Course with Carts allowed.

We are fast running out of dates to play all the Competitions set down, as well as Match Plays, should Carts not be allowed.  Our Powers that Be are aware of our necessity to get out there but of course, we also have to look after the Course.  So lets just wait and see......

YOU MUST BE A FINANCIAL MEMBER FOR 2014-1015.  Please check this out if in doubt.
