How time flies when you are having fun playing golf. No weather disruptions to our programme, what a difference the dry weather makes. Hopefully it will continue.

The Match Committee have made a decision on the Drop Out Stableford (DOS) question. Golf NSW advised they do not support this system, but some larger Sydney Clubs do. To use DOS the fields need to be large to support two competitions. We do not have the numbers.

Goulburn are seeking more nominations for their Debbie Collins Motor Neurone Charity Day on Wednesday 12 August, so far the nominations are far below last year. It would be good if we could give some support.

This is our open day, a day for us to welcome visitors to our Club and participate in a great day of golf with excellent prizes. To date nominations are very poor. If you would like to play and find the Mitournament booking site a little daunting, add your name to the sheet in the Locker Room and I will manage your booking.

MATCH PLAY 8 +8 VISITING CLUBS 8

Eight has been a popular number this week with 8 players contesting the Colin Stamm Salver. Winners Highlands 11 pts,
Moss Vale 9 & Bowral 4. A delicious lunch was served by The Glass Cafe at Highlands. Thank you all for participating.
8 Players travelled to Belconnen to contest the Canberra Shield Braidwood won with 13 pts, Bowral 4th 10 pts. Well done all it was a great result.
8 Bowral Women played at Mt Broughton on Friday, it was a very windy & cold day, despite this we all soldiered on and enjoyed the day. Lyn Hall, Bowral won 53 pts & Ellen Goodwin r/up 40 pts. Allison did well in setting an easier & short course. I had forgotten how unforgiving the rough was, lost 2 balls.

THE PAMELA TALLENTS TROPHY 4 & 6 JULY

This event is played over two rounds, Rd 1 Foursomes Matchplay Rd 2. 4BBB Stableford. Sign Up via sheet in Womens Locker room. Match Committee will organise the teams
1. Wingecarribee 2. Gibbergunyah and appoint a Captain for each team. If unable to play both days please indicate which day you wish to play. Entries close 29 June.
Another milestone for the Club is the booking site MiTournament. This will be used for all our Open Days & major events requiring booking & payments. First off is the Bowral Open Championships & Wattle Day on Thursday 3 August 2023. Bookings are now open, a flyer will be on the Board. Pls book early as this event will fill up quickly.
Mt Broughton is hosting a Gold Day on Friday 23 June $40 golf & cart, Potato & Leak soup & bread roll available $10. Pls contact Allison Mooney on 0438190526 to book.

The girls who went off to Cowra had a great time, Ellen sent me a photo, sorry unable to download. Next year we will look at adding this event to our Calander & making it even bigger. Hopefully Cowra will reciprocate with a return visit.

As you will have noticed the Club have new staff to train, so please have patience and be kind whilst they are learning.

WINTER PLAY, EL NINO ON ITS WAY

With the end of La Nina we can now expect El Nino in the coming months, good for golf, but not the gardens.
June is a very busy month, Mixed Foursomes, Colin Stamm Salver, CSGA Canberra Shield & general play day competitions. Remember if we have 30 plus players there will be two divisions.
The Pamela Tallents Trophy coming up on Tues 4 & Thurs 6 July. Please add your names to the sign up sheet. Teams will be decided by the Match Committee on Thurs 29 June. The more the merrier for this fun event.

WINTER CHILLS , GOLF THRILLS

Winter is upon us, beautiful days, but chilly winds, but don't let that stop you getting the thrills from playing golf, whilst the days are sunny,
Good to see the Match Plays all up to date. Try to play your matches sooner rather than later.

It was a beautifully sunny day for the VWGA 4BBB on Monday. Some great scores & we all managed to get a ball in the run down. Sharon Rowe won a NTP. We were complimented on our Club Shirts, as they look so smart and distinguish us, from the other Clubs,

MISCORE SAVES THE DAY : On Tuesday the System was down & no cards ,we were playing the Blue Course, hence no GA Handicap, but found on MiScore, list of all players & GA Handicap for the day.

MIXED FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS SUNDAYS 18th & 25th JUNE.
Find a partner and enter in this fun game, lets make it the best Mixed foursomes ever. The Captains have partnered up & hopefully all the Board & Womens Committee can do the same.

THE COLIN STAMM SALVER will go ahead on Tuesday 20th June. You will see that I have reserved all the spots prior to 9.12 am as this event goes first. I will contact all players once details have been confirmed.

Yesterday 8 Bowral Women played in the CSGA Vets day at Goulburn. After the fog lifted it was a glorious day. Lynette Hatton from Moss Vale was the overall winner 40 pts. I managed r/up Div 2 36 pts.
