On a day when the weather forecast was not as bad as anticipated, only 17 ladies lined up for the challenge of winning Bernadette's memorial trophy. 
The overnight rain made it pretty heavy underfoot as the DSR of 75 testified! 
Anne Geddes was a clear winner with 32 Stableford points, from Andrea Tomlin on 27. Balls went to 23 c/b, but the Pro pin jackpots again ($27.50).

Pam presented Anne with the trophy, and the $20 voucher for the day's win.
Andrea collected $15 and and NTP on 12th with her second shot.
We all reminisced on Bernadette's days at the club, while Pam proposed a toast to her! 
With everyone enjoying a drink, Captain Barb announced that she was registering for the DRY JULY national fundraiser, and asked everyone to support her abstinence from alcohol for 31 days for the good cause of Cancer research and patient support, particularly in the local region of Camden/Campbelltown. Tuesday Stableford: Our winner was Faye Frith (35 points) from Jenny Alexander making a welcome return to golf with 32 points. Helen Chadwick celebrated her birthday by winning the NTP (2nd shot) on 4th hole! 
 Ellen Neale continued her good form with 30 pts for the win on Saturday.

Next week is our 5th Club Medal and Golf NSW Medal round: Make sure you register online to play, before the draw is done on Monday afternoon.

This event will definitely be held tomorrow, provided the course is open (despite the forecast of showers). 
Everyone is welcome (and encouraged) to join us for lunch (in the Oxley Room) and Presentation of the trophy, even if you haven't played golf! 
We would love to see as many people as possible to celebrate the friendship and the legacy that Bernadette left us at the club.

Reminder: Next Tuesday, being the First Tuesday of the month is an OPEN DAY - you may invite visitors to play at Members Green fee rates on this day. This is a standing invitation for all first Tuesdays.

​Veteran’s Country Championships:
Today’s event was a stroke round serving as the Club’s playoff for the NSW Veteran’s Association Country Championships, for those who are eligible.
 
Winner of the daily event was Ruth Bailey with 70 nett - Ruth is consistently improving and lost another shot from her handicap today. I think she is heading for A grade at a rapid rate!
Next best was Jane Clifford (76 c/b) from Anne Vitou. Jane also collected the $32.50 Pro pin, and Anne the NTP 2nd shot at 4th with a Birdie 2 (that’s hard to beat!). Balls went down to 79.

Tuesday’s Colin Stamm Interclub event, which was cancelled due to the inclement weather, will hopefully be rescheduled for later in the year. Thank you to all the players who volunteered to play, we will call on you again when we have a date! Thanks to those who came in for sandwich and coffee lunch in the clubhouse, especially Sue Ayres from Moss Vale club.
 
Helen Chadwick was the winner of Saturday’s Par Game with -4.
 
We look forward to a big field next Thursday for our annual Bernadette Brown Trophy playoff (Stableford). Please sign up online, and hope for fine weather. And in deference to our dear friend Bernadette, we would love everyone to stay for the Presentation and a celebratory drink afterwards.

Due to the inclement conditions the combined Berrima District Captains have called off this event for today. A decision will be made shortly about a possible rescheduled date. 
However, we will be gathering for lunch (Sandwiches and coffee (or something stronger !?) in the clubhouse from 12 noon...ALL WELCOME, PLEASE JOIN US!

Barbara McCarthy Memorial Trophy and Rosevale Plate Qualifying Round: 27 players contested the Stableford round today to determine the best 8 players for the Knockout Match play phase of these Major Trophies.

Pam Barker was the best for the day with 34 points, followed by Jan Deane on 32.
Carol Warner scored a great jackpot on the Pro pin of $67.50!
NTP on 4th hole with the second shot was Anne Geddes.

Saturday Stableford: Jan Deane on 32 points was our daily winner.

Our fourth Club Medallists of the year were decided today in lovely fine and dry conditions, although the course was still a bit wet underfoot. 23 players across three divisions took advantage of the fine weather, 8 in Division 1, 5 in Division 2, and 10 starters in Division 3. 
Division 1: Jan Deane was a clear winner of both Nett and Scratch, carding 95/nett 76 to claim her first medal for the year. Carol Warner putted well, registering the lowest putting score of 28.
Division 2: Best Nett score and lowest putt count both went to Helen Chadwick (106/80). Helen enjoyed a successful day at Goulburn GC Invitation Day yesterday as well, winning NTP on the tricky Par 3 8th hole!  Susan Harrison eclipsed her for the Scratch best of the day. 
Division 3:Faye Frith continued her winning streak of medal wins  claiming Division 3 with 112 for best Scratch, and 78 for best nett. Cathy Maule won the lowest putt count (30).
The Pro Pin of $30 wasn't claimed so will jackpot until next Thursday!

Tuesday Stableford: Only 12 players braved the Tuesday drizzle to play Stableford. Susan Harrison proved once again she is an all-weather player to easily win with 32 points! Nearest score was 29 to Cathy Maule. Wendy Burke scored NTP prize ball on 4th hole, while Di Mellen won the $15 pro pin.
We hope Fran Dubiez is recovering well from the stick that jumped up and gashed her leg on the 4th hole, causing her to retire 'hurt'. Best wishes Fran for a quick return to golf. ..
Saturday was a miserable day which saw only two brave ladies take to the Stroke round, Pam Barker (78)and Jan Deane (81) each won a ball for their trouble ! 

I still need a few players to sign up for the Colin Stamm Interclub Match Play trophy event on Tuesday 19th June. Please see the sheet in the locker room.

My apologies for the late write up...Jet lag got the better of me and I forgot on Thursday! 
And I would like to send a HUGE Thank you to Jane for doing a great job while I was away during May. 

GOLF NSW 4BBB v Stableford event on Thursday was won by Chris Hill and Carol Warner with 40 points.
The $5 player entry fee collected per player is forwarded to Golf NSW  and used by them to  support the running of the NSW Open.
Chris and Carol will be nominated to Golf NSW, giving them a chance to win a place in the NSW Women's Open ProAm, held in conjunction with the Open event next year.
Runners up were Ruth Bailey and Helen Chadwick, and Ruth the happy winner of the jackpotted Pro Pin of $82.50! Jan Ferguson won the NTP prize on 12th hole. 

​Tuesday Par:
Susan Harrison won with -1. Jan Deane collected the Pro Pin of $15, and Jill Scott the NTP on 4th hole. 

Saturday Stableford was won by Maggie McKenzie on 30 points. 

CLUB MEDAL ROUND 4 is on Thursday 7th June. The draw has been done and is online. Late entries can be added (in correct division).
Please ensure you arrive early for your tee time as players will be moved up if withdrawals happen! 

Note that Winter Tee Times will now start from 9am. If frost is on the course, the pro shop will advise if any further delays will be necessary to tee start times.
