Women's Golf News

The three Pennant teams continue playing their respective matches with much enthusiasm, competitiveness and commaradie .Virginia had the misfortune to roll her ankle and fracture her foot whilst playing at Federal last week. We wish her a speedy recovery.
Friday 17th March Bowral played Royal Canberra at Gungahlin Lakes resulting in 2 1/2 each. It was a very hard course, well done all we had a great day.
Plate played Murrumbidgee at Queanbeyan, they had 2 wins and a square, but resulting in a loss 3/2, one player down. They played well and reportedly had a special invite to Government House for a look and a drink, a great finish to a fabulous day in Canberra.  It's not always about the golf.
Brindabella plays at Murrumbidgee on Sunday combining with Fairbain , all the best.

We had a pleasant day on Tuesday for the Candain Foursomes overcast & showers 28 players: Susan Harrison & Ellen Goodwin won with net 78.875 
                   R/Up Alexandra Dowling & Barb Mead net 80.

It's great to see penny McKinna back playing after her foot surgery. 

I will be away, (visiting NZ Wanaka, playing Jacks Point, Millbrook & Queenstown courses) returning on 3rd April, Vice-Captain Jan Tuite will step up.

Many Pennant matches have been played this week.
Congratulations to Julia and Sally-Anne for playing so well in the White Horse Cup. 
The Plate and Bronze Pennant Teams both played at Federal on Thursday, resulting in losses 4/1 for the Plate and 3/2 for the Bronze, the Bronze matches all went to the 18th, it was a lovely day and enjoyable golf.  
No Brindabella this Sunday will resume on Sunday 19th March. 

Congratulations to Ellen Neale & Carole Byrnes for doing so well in the Whales Tooth helping secure a win for Bowral. The trophy is in the Cabinet, where it will stay until next year when it is played at The Australian.

A 3 person Ambrose was played on Thursday for the Green Keepers Revenge. Winners Kate Wegmuller, Jane Whittaker & Dianna Lindsay. R/up Robyn McGinnes, Sharon Rowe & Pat Donoghue, well done. 

Tuesday 14th March is a Canadian Foursomes, still plenty of spots to pop your names down. 
Thursday 16th March, we play the Hi Low foursomes, the draw is on the system. As its close to St Patrick's day, please wear something green to get in the spirit & for a bit or Irish fun there will be 3 green paddle pop sticks for each pair to use for a Mulligan, once only.  You can still add your name at the end if you wish to play, more the merrier.

The Mi Score booking system is up to date to the end of the year, bearing in mind should any events require rescheduling then there will be changes. You can look ahead up to 60 days by pressing the right-hand Showing days & choose 60. To look up any particular date use the little Calendar on the left toggle the months then hit the date required. 

It's great to see so many Women supporting the Legacy Day on Saturday 25th March, remember that 6 Day members are welcome to play. Please support this very worthwhile charity.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, as Captain it is my roll to help, sort and support Women golfers with any issues relating to golf. But, I do request that any issue be raised before or after golf. Please let me and other Committee members enjoy their game of golf.  

Oh! if your ball goes under a bridge in a penalty area, it's an immovable obstruction and you get free relief outside the penalty area. It's a Local Rule on the back of your card.

The course is closed on Tuesday for Greens Renovations. Thursday 9/3 is a 3 Person Ambrose: Green Keepers Revenge, a bit of fun. 
Still time to pop your names down for the HI Low Foursomes (you might like to invite a member who has not been playing much) Bowral /Goulburn Shield 21st March at Bowral. 

Check out the draws for Jubilee Foursomes and The Challenge Bowl now on the Board. Remember players names on top are to contact the bottom player to arrange a convenient time to play. But if you haven't been contacted please ring the other player and organise your match.  Please endeavour to play sooner than later, whilst the weather is good.

Please continue to be mindful of slow play, if you are holding up the field please allow the players behind you to pass. This also applies to Pennant play, slow play is not acceptable.
