It's a pretty gloomy start to the weekend - drizzle, dark clouds and more cases of the dreaded Delta variant. Please stay safe - thank goodness we can still play golf.
The 9 hole Novices were out again this morning, numbers slightly down on the previous weeks, but we still had fun...... and some good shots were made which is very pleasing to see. A special thank you to John Ferguson who is helping the newbies gain confidence in their game.

On Wednesday July 14th, Goulburn Golf Club hosted their Motor Neurone Disease Charity Day. Unfortunately, a lot of our girls could not make it down on that day. We did, however, take up a collection on Tuesday 13th for Jane Kilmister to take to Gail Moroney GGC President. We collected $342.00 which was fantastic - thank you all for your generosity. This is a thank you letter from Gail ..
"The kindness of the Bowral ladies in making a donation to our MND Day was so very much appreciated. There was an audible gasp at the presentation when I made the announcement of your generosity. It was a big decision for us to go ahead with the day due to the Covid scare in Goulburn.
Although the amount has not been finalised it looks like we raised around $4000 which was much more than expected considering the circumstances.

The sign up sheet is in the locker room - we will do the draw after golf on Thursday 29th July.
Unfortunately The Royal Canberra Challenge Bowl has been cancelled for this year. It was meant to be played next Thursday 29th July. The team that was chosen - Jane Clifford, Suzanne Ayre, Jill Malone and Ellie Scott are understandably saddened by the decision, but this Delta strain of Covid seems to be insidious.
Wasn't yesterday a great day to play golf? The sun was shining, the corellas absent, it was warm enough to only have 3 jumpers NOT 4 on and there was a lovely smell of fires burning. One of my playing partners, Faye Frith, became quite nostalgic saying that the smell reminded her of her childhood, when there would be hot potatoes thrown into the bonfires!!

We also have the Unity Cup on Tuesday 17th August which is a match play event against Moss Vale. The MV women's captain and I are just working out numbers at the moment, so more information will be forthcoming.
