Hello Everyone,
Thank you for all your calls, messages and well wishes.
Not the start that I had envisaged, but after a rough couple of weeks with Covid, I am now improving and able to function as your Captain.
Thank you to our outgoing Captain, Annie Geddes, for her last two years of enthusiastic, never yielding, knowledgeable leadership. Annie had to cope with unprecedented outside influences causing havoc and interruption to the normal golfing calendar. She leaves very large shoes to fill.
I am looking forward to working with the new Women’s Committee. Welcome to new members Sharon Rowe and Pat Donoghue and in particular my Vice Captain, Jan Tuite. Thank you, Jan for standing in the last few weeks. Also Kevin, David, Mat and staff.
The New Year brings a very exciting and busy time for our Club, with Open Day on Thursday 2nd February, followed by the two day VWGA Tournament on 6th & 7th February, where we will be hosting 100 players , each day, with a Dinner and presentations on the Monday night.
Pennants will begin February/March. This year we are hoping to enter three teams, Plate, Bronze and Brindabella. Brindabella is played on Sundays. So give some thought in representing your Club and having some fun playing new courses and meeting other like minded golfers. Could even have a girls weekend in Canberra.
Look out for the Blog, in the New Year, and yes Whittakers Winners will return next year.
