This year we are only playing in the Bronze Plate.
Friday 1st March
The first game of the season at Bowral. Five visiting clubs consisting of 5 players each. Thankfully the weather God was kind and gave us a perfect Highland Day!
So much preparation and so many people involved to make this day a success.
Special thanks to the following people / teams.
The course was looking it's finest and we have Matt Morris and his team to thank for all the work they put in for this day. We got so many compliments on the course from various visiting players.
Morning Tea. We definitely out did ourselves ladies! A very popular spot to stop. Thanks to Chris Levy, Sonia Bleakley, Di Mellon, Jane Whittaker and Meeghan Bourne for the food and the setting up for this early morning start.
To John Buchanan who was our starter on the day. We had a number of the players comment on how good the start was with all the local rules being explained and the noting the friendly approach John has. Thanks again John!
To the bar staff. We are so lucky to have this wonderful group of people there to support us on these very important days. A special thank you to Janelle who also had to act as protector of the Golfers food. There were a couple of small people and I understand maybe 1 or 2 not so small people attending a Wake at the club, who liked the look of the golfers food.
Thanks to everyone for all the help.
A special mention goes out to Di Bradhurst and Sophie Rankine who both spent many hours at the club helping me.
Di was out on the course acting as spotter and trouble shooter extraordinaire. Sophie was on the spot to assist the various club captains with the new online system and also be photographer for the day.
The team: Sally-Anne Ferguson, Jane Clifford, Emma Perham, Kate Wegmuller and Meeghan Bourne. We had a very successful golf result of 3.5 to 1.5 against RMC. Well done to the team, a great start to the season.
Friday 8th March. Bowral V's Belconnen @ Belconnen.
The team: Helen Egan, Sally-Anne Ferguson, Jan Tuite, Emma Perham and Kate Wegmuller.
Well, the tables were turned on us this week. We had the advantage last week of playing on our home course, this week Belconnen had that advantage. Unfortunately, we lost all games. However, we did not make it easy for Belconnen. Although not a great result we did all have a fun day, the Belconnen team being great hosts.
