THE GOLF RESULTS
Luckily, we did manage to get some breaks in the rain and golf was played.
Thursday 4th started with a light drizzle but 12 of us girls thought we'd give golf a go. Yes, the course was heavy and some of us may have gotten low scores but, we didn't get wet!
Anne Keys came out of the gates strong! There was no way a little water under foot was going to hold this filly back! Anne won the day with 37 points. 3 pars and a BIRDIE on the 15th ensured her of a convincing win. Wendy Burke came in 2nd with 33 points and Suzanne Ayes came in 3rd with 29 points. Congratulations to the winners. I am sure everyone who did play enjoyed getting out on the course after the busy Christmas period.
On Friday the 5th the field was only small, a total of 17 players. Only 5 women risked the threat of rain. I won the women's prize on the day with a score of 15 points.
Saturday 6th we had nine of us women out on the course. Congratulations to Kathryn Barnsley, who came in with 33 points which included a BIRDIE on the 12th. Julie Scamperle was 2nd with 32 points and a BIRDIE on the 7th. Wendy Burke finished with 30 points and took out 3rd place on a count back.
Tuesday 9th was a wash out with all of us deciding to stay inside and stay dry.
Thursday 11th was a drier day and many of us who played on the 4th were able to improve on our scores from the previous week. It was nice to see more players out on the course. In total we had 26 starters. Congratulations to Janet Dunn who came in 1st with 36 points. Sophie Rankine and Barb Mead were both very close with 35 points each. Sophie took out 2nd place on count back, and Barb took out 3rd place.
Sophie, you have the bragging rights this week! 2 BIRDIES (6th & 12th holes) in the one game is definitely something to brag about.
