As you can imagine, there is very little to report, apart from our Plate Pennant Team playing at Murrumbidgee yesterday in lovely sunny conditions!
Two of our women members went to Yowani G.C for their Vets Tournament on Monday and Tuesday and by all accounts had a good time. Well done Pam Barker and Helen Chadwick for competing in this event.
The Plate Pennants Team enjoyed their day at Murrumbidgee, but unfortunately did not come home with a win - but we were close! We lost 3/2 to Yowani. We did better than last week, so watch out Moss Vale/Goulburn on Friday 18th March @ Queanbeyan.
Suzanne Ayre - our Plate Pennant Captain, has put out a call for anyone in the handicap range of 12 - 23 to give her a call if you are available to play in any match. Unfortunately, 2 of our players are out due to injury, which leaves the team pretty skinny! If you can help, please contact Suzanne.
The Bronze Shielders (or Sheila's) had their game cancelled at Braidwood on Friday.
They play RMC on Friday 18th March @ Federal Golf Club.
Virginia Wozniak has joined with Yowani to play in the Bruce Cup Pennant Team. They play their first match at Yowani on Sunday 13th March.
Good Luck to all the Gals!
As you have seen from the photos (on Club Captain's Blog) - the Clubhouse took a bit of a hit during the week due to the heavy rain. Our wonderful team have worked miracles over the past couple of days, and the Clubhouse will be open on Saturday for lunch and then open again on Monday.
Before the deluge, Sue Flaxman, our fearless President, had sent out an email encouraging the women members to come in to the Clubhouse for lunch on Thursday. Sue is very resilient, and quickly sent out a further email saying that lunch would now be happening at the Scottish Arms! I believe that 10 or so girls had a fabulous lunch. Good Call Sue!!
At this stage, fixtures will be as per the website from Thursday onwards. I have changed the Stableford Comp on Blue Course on Thursday 24th March to the Red Course.
WHAT'S COMING UP?
HAHA - Let's hope......
Thursday 17th March - 3 Person Ambrose
Saturday 19th March - Stableford
Tuesday 22nd March - 4BBB Irish Stableford
Thursday 24th March - Stableford
Saturday 26th March - Stroke
The Bowral/Goulburn Shield on Tuesday 29th March is still going ahead at this stage @ Bowral. I will inform the team next week as to the state of play.
WHITTAKER'S WINNERS
- Adairs/Pillow Talk/Bed Bath & Table – Take your pick from any of these stores for convenience but whatever you do get yourself a set of pure silk pillow cases. You will adore the feel of them on your skin and they guarantee a great night’s sleep. I am a fan now and they are a true winner. Adairs have some on sale but they are temporarily out of stock of my favourite, the check ones! Expect to pay about $80 for one, full price. Pricey I know but shop around. An especially good pressie for the ‘ever so hard to buy for’ family member.
- Aldi – This relentless rain and humidity is not good for our wardrobes and linen cupboards so stock up on the essential Moisture Absorbers -twin pack, on special this week for $4.99. You’ll be staggered at the amount of moisture that is absorbed. Also get a couple of cans of Eucalyptus Spray as it’s also a special this week. It’s so refreshing in the laundry and kitchen, $5.99 a can.
- Lin & Barrett – A must have for Autumn/Winter are their wool and cashmere camisoles. They are super fine and can be worn under almost anything. Otherwise known as singlets!! But they are meant to fit quite snuggly so keep that in mind. $59.99
- Woolies/Coles – Well what a success those frozen goose fat roasting potatoes were from Aldi, but where are they now? Don’t worry as Birdseye now have introduced their equivalent and named them Roast Potatoes Glazed with Duck Fat, hallelujah!! $4.99.
Happy shopping

OUR CLUB SHIRTS HAVE ARRIVED!! If you ordered a shirt last year, please pick up from the Pro Shop. I believe Kevin Kenny ordered a few extras, so if you would like one, please head to the Pro Shop toute suite!! Gosh we are all going to be such SMARTYPANTS!!
So .... No results to give you as we have not been on our course for 2 weeks. Let's hope that we get a few dry days and get back to playing our favourite sport on our lovely course.
I hope that you all survived last week's battering in Bowral, and that everyone is now safe and dry.
Let's hope for fine day next Thursday when we can resume our golfing regime!
Take Care
Annie
