CHARITY DAY - THURSDAY 23RD JULY: After a very ordinary start to the day (weatherwise) it was fantastic to see so many brave souls turn up to support this day. Their optimism was rewarded with the rain stopping at 8.30 am and the sun appearing at just the right time! It was not, however, enough to dry out the course - but that was the least of our worries. We played an "Irish" 4 ball which was "doctored" on the day to ensure that we could cope with the conditions. There were 51 players and the winners were: Warren Ryan, Peter Girven, David Farthing and John Jones - 59 points Runners Up: Tony Dick, Jeff Spender and Faye Frith - only 3 players and a score of 58!! NTP Men: Don Barker. NTP Women: What happened? A big thankyou to our pro Stuart, who exhausted himself by hitting off nearly every drive from the first. A gold coin donation for this raised $51. Also thankyou to the green staff for rearranging the blue pots so that the men were able to experience the conditions played by the women!! We were pleased to see so many non-golfers join us for lunch, and to enjoy the fare prepared by the kitchen and promptly served to us by our very efficient staff. With a combination of raffles, entries, 3 putt box and assorted donations, we are hopeful of presenting Southern Highlands Legacy with around $2000. Thankyou to one and all for making this day such a success.
