Donkin Cup (R1) and upcoming events

Single Stableford (Thursday 7 February) R1 Donkin Cup
A great field of 30 players participated in our first trophy event of the year.  A bit of a breeze kept conditions manageable and the day produced some great scores.

Division 1
Winner: Ellen Neale (23) 33 points
Runner-up: Helen Martin (14) 29 points

Division 2
Winner: Di Mellen (30) 36 points
Runner-up: Carole Byrnes (27) 32 points

These results mean Di Mellen is leading in the race for the Donkin Cup with the 2nd round to be played on the 29th of August.

A fun day to kick off the first full week of our golfing year.  27 players competed and produced some very close results

Single Stroke (Saturday 2 February)
Pam Barker (20) was the winner of this round of the Saturday Cup with a nett 77.

Please remember to check your card before you head out to play and confirm what is the competition of the day.  Unfortunately a couple of players failed to do this and could not be included in the results.

There are lots of events coming up in this very busy time of the year so make sure you regularly check the club calendar and notices in the locker room.

Club Medal R1/Presidents Cup R1
The draw was completed after golf yesterday and is now on the computer.  Remember we have reverted to a two tee start so we can all come in together at lunch time.  This round Divisions 1 & 3 are hitting off the 1st tee and Division 2 players are starting from the 10th tee.  Late entries can be accepted - contact either the pro-shop or me.  You will be added in your division if a space is available or to the end of the field.  Play must be from the same tee as the rest of your division. 

CSGA Opening Day 28 February (Belconnen Golf Club)
Please remember this event is fast approaching.  Bookings close 20 February.
Come along and support our Club Champion Pam Barker as she competes in two events held in conjunction with opening day - the CSGA Champion of Champions and the Diabetes Trophy.

Challenge Bowl
The entry form for this annual trophy event is now in the locker room.  Please register by 28 February - The draw will then be made shortly after this date.  The entry fee of $5 is included the $35 entry fee for this years special events.

Women's Summer Meeting
This annual event will be held from 4-7 March.

Foursomes - Wednesday 6 March - Highlands
Teams v Par - Thursday 7 March - Highland

While Golf NSW is no longer managing this event (now being run by Highland Golf Club) bookings are still via the Golf NSW website.  Bookings are open now.

Farewell to our friend Stuart Denholm
Don't forget our best friend Stuart is retiring at the end of the month.  Drinks and a presentation to him will be held at 5pm Friday 22 February.  Please come along.  A card from the women members is circulating so please add your signature.
