Thursday:
Two weeks into the ‘serious’ golfing year and already we are competing for a second trophy. Today was round one of the Donkin Cup, an aggregate Stableford over two rounds, the next round being scheduled for 19th July.
32 players took part, so we could award daily prizes over two divisions.
Newcomer Ruth Bailey posted the ‘best of the day’ round of 36 points, followed closely by Cathy Maule on 35 points.
Best of Division 1 was Barbara Clayton (33) from Leonie Carroll (32).
Barbara also collected the pro pin money on 14th of $32.50.
Ellen Neale and Marion Tyree were winners of the Drive and Pitch on 12th for Div 1&2 respectively.
Tuesday’s 3 person Ambrose was popular, and a fantastic score of 61 5/6ths from Cathy Maule, Ellie Scott and Netti Buchanan cleaned up the field!
Louise Dally had a good day, anchoring the runner-up team with Judy Windybank and Marion Tyree, and scooping the “Jackpot” Pro Pin of $75 as well as the NTP on 14th.
Lyn Solness won Saturday’s Stroke round with a nett 69.
Medal Round – 15th February – The draw is done and on the website. Late entries can play at the end of the field, unless a space is available within their division. Please contact the Pro shop or Captain with additions or withdrawals.
Please arrive earlier than your scheduled tee time as players will be moved up if others pull out or arrive late!
