Seven players braved the drizzle for a late start due to the Women's Summer Meeting. Barb Clayton (25) with 34 points won from Di Mellen (35) with 33 points.
Single Stroke - Saturday 29 February
Nine players competed for points towards the Saturday Cup for 2020 in what turned out to be a very competitive round. Marg Horwitz (22) won on a countback from Chris Levy (28) - both scoring a nett 69.
Marg Horwitz also won the NTP 2nd shot on the 15th.
Women's Summer Meeting - 2-5 March
The Women's Summer Meeting was held in the highlands this week and was managed by the Moss Vale Golf Club. Single stroke (Div1) and stableford (Div2) were played at Moss Vale on Monday afternoon and Bowral Golf Club on Tuesday morning. Instead of the usual Tuesday night dinner, Regina prepared a grazing table for players to enjoy while the results were being finalised. This proved so popular it has already been incorporated into next year's program.
I was honoured to win the Kathleen Armstrong Bowl for the best two rounds in Division 2. The trophy will be held in our trophy cabinet for the next 12 months.
Here are a couple of photo of me receiving the trophy from Davyd Reeves (MVGC professional) and a close up of the trophy.
Bronze Shield Pennants
The first round of the Bronze Shield Pennants was due to be held at Gold Creek on Friday 6 March. Canberra finally had the rain it was looking for - but all at once - and the round was cancelled. We will keep you posted on developments. Thanks to Annie Geddes for all her work as Pennants Captain.
Hi/Lo Foursomes - Tuesday 24 March
The aim is to have players with quite different handicaps playing together. There is a list in the locker room - put your name down and we will choose a partner for you.
Bowral-Goulburn Shield at Goulburn - Tuesday 31 March
It is almost time to travel to the home of our friends at Goulburn for the first part of this annual match play event. Bowral needs to field a team of 12 players across all handicap divisions. There is a list in the locker room. We will of course arrange transport for players that need it.
