On the subject of chatting to people, Kevin has requested the we DO NOT congregate after our games to have a blether.
The blossom and spring flowers are in abundance at the moment - a lovely time of the year indeed. Matt Morris and his men did a wonderful job of coring and sanding the greens and Tee boxes at the beginning of the week. Talking to Matt yesterday, he predicted that by the end of next week all will be "tip top"!! Thanks Matt for taking care of our course so well. Also thanks for not making the Greenkeeper's Revenge too tricky this year!
One of our new Lifestyle Members - Katie Scott (Ellie's daughter), has just got her handicap. Congratulations Katie - 39.1 - terrific.
A couple of our members/ or husbands are recuperating from Ops or illnesses. We wish Leonie Carroll and John Mellen speedy recoveries.

WHITTAKER'S WINNERS
- MITTAGONG GARDEN CENTRE. There is a special plant I start to look out for from now on. It's the beautiful Dragon Winged Begionia. It is not like any other as it's a large variety with stunning pendulous leaves and flowers. It's a must for your Christmas decor and be sure to get the bright red variety. It loves growing under trees or in a shady spot in a pot. It's one of my favourite winners that is guaranteed to get lots of lovely comments.
- ELDERFLOWER CORDIAL. This is a great item to keep in your pantry as it is not only a delicately flavoured summer drink, but is fabulous drizzled over a summer fruit salad. it's hard to pick what the flavour is as it's so unique. Try it on some ice cream as well! It is readily available from the supermarket. A great tip from Jamie Oliver that I've been enjoying for years.
- ALDI. Yes here we go again, but I'm surprised that so many of you haven't yet discovered the frozen packets of Potato Gratin by Maitre D'. These little wonders are so good and handy to keep in the freezer. Be creative and cook extras to then flatten, add to an omelette with Kecap Manis. There are a couple of varieties - so try them all out!
