Todays Stableford Competition was won by Jenny Ogg with 37 points.
We played Goulburn for the Bowral Goulburn Shield today at Bowral and Congratulations go to our team who won by 7 matches to 5 thus returning the Shield to the Bowral Ladies Trophy Cabinet. It was quite a nail biter of a finish with the return of the Shield resting on the result of the last match.

Our dearly loved Craig was taken to hospital this morning and we are awaiting the results of his tests. Craig we wish you a speedy recovery. The winners of today 4BBB stableford event were: Anne Keys & Leonie Carroll with 49 points on a countback from Anne Geddes & Anne Vitou. Balls to: Anne Geddes & Anne Vitou -49, Robyn McGinnes & Wendy Ruttan- 47 and Fran Stapelfeldt & Jeanette Schofield- 44 points. Ladies remember Thursday is General Meeting day. The meeting will commence at 2pm. Prizes for the days event and also Perpetual Trophies will be awarded. The booking sheet is open so if you need to withdraw from the competition you are able to do so but as it is a team event please try and find a replacement player. It is a shot gun start at 8.30 on your tee. Pre order lunch forms are available in the Pro Shop to assist with catering. 45 players, 10 extra ladies for lunch and the bridge players will put a load on the catering staff. Please be patient. This will be my last Captains Blog. I thank you all for your assistance, guidance, friendship and golfing partners. I will be able to concerntrate on my golf and enjoy your company without worrying what is going on around me. The winners with a lovely score of 49 points were : Jan Lane & her son Scott Proctor. Visitors in the field today were from : Avondale, Gordon, Pymble, Warringah, Highlands. Runners up were: Stephne Whiteway & Brian Hanrahan (welcome back Brian) with 47 points. Balls went to 42 on a count back : Erikssons, Barkers, Friths, Tracee McGrath & Robert Gilroy from Highlands. NTP - Div 1 0-25 - Jenny Ogg, Div 2 26-35 - Wendy Burke Div 3 36-45 - Fran Stapelfeldt. Pro Pin was won by Wendy Burke - $69. Thursday - General Meeting Day. The starters sheet is on the computer. Check the hole number beside your name. It is not necessarily in order. The meeting will commence after golf and lunch. We hope at 2pm. The results of the days event will be followed by the presentation of Perpetual Trophy events before the commencement of the meeting. If you didn't have a score of 37 points today - you didn't get a ball.
Noela McMurray had another win today with a score of 40 points. Well done Noela, also a win on Saturday. The Pro Pin was a carry over from 11th September and was won by Jeanette Schofield - $117 - congratulations to Jeanette. Ladies General Meeting Day - 4th October. The names have been added to the computer and all say 8.00am. Please refer to the sheet in the locker room for your tee allocation. The event is a 3 person Irish Stableford - 16 holes only (leave out 8 & 9). Scoring will be : Holes 1-5, 1 scores, Holes 6 - 12, 2 scores & Holes 13 - 18, 3 scores. We need 1 more player to complete the threes. If you would like a game please contact Pam Barker or the Pro Shop and request to be added to the 17th tee. Today was Rosemary Downings birthday and she was lucky enough to win the Pro Pin - $42. Happy birthday Rosemary.

We still need 1 more division 1 player. If we do not get one, one of the Division 2 players will be required to play off a lower handicap. Thank you to the ladies that have already offered to play. CALDERWOOD VALLEY: I have been told that a great day was had by all. Thank you to Wendy & Anne for organising this day. MERIMBULA: I don't have a report from this area. CANBERRA - CSGA: Pam Barker did not win the raffle but she did come 2nd in Division 2 Scratch Foursomes at Capital Golf Club and also won a door prize - 2 rounds of golf at Yowani. Last Monday Robyn McGinnes & Leonie Carroll played the finals of the Hastings & Meg Clark K.O round. Robyn was the victor on the 20th hole. A very close fought match. Today the green staff cored the greens. Some of our ladies will be travelling for the next few days. One group are off to Merimbula ( a yearly visit) others are off to Calderwood next week and I am off to Canberra to play in the CSGA Annual tournament. Then there is the Kiama Minnimurra Bowl, a 2 day event over the weekend of 22/23 September. To all those travellers - have a safe trip and enjoy your experiences. Bowral- Goulburn Shield - the draw for this event being played at Bowral on Tuesday 9th October will be announced on Tuesday 2nd October. Todays stableford event was held with visitors from Cronulla & Highlands.
The winner was Carol Turpie - 37 - on a c/b from Pam Barker. Balls were awarded to : Wendy Pope- 36, Uschi Eriksson -35, Margaret Hore (Highlands) -34, Penny McKenna - 34, Wendy Burke - 33 and Belinda Metham (Cronulla) 33. Special prizes were awarded for NTP - 6th hole - 2nd shot - to Di Raisin - Cronulla, Best Cronulla score to Di Lloyd - 36. Pro Pin was not won and will jackpot to Tuesday 25th September. Congratulations to the local accomodation houses. The Cronulla ladies stayed at Links House and a group of 25 players gracing the bar at the end of the day after playing golf were staying at Berida Manor. I do believe there was another group on the course from a Probis Club. All good money in our bank account. Thursday- Round 2 Foursomes Championships - today the greens staff cored the perimeters of the greens. Something I had no warning of so I do apologise now for what you may find on Thursday. The only consolation is that we will all be experiencing the same conditions. |
