We have had record numbers on the course this week, and haven't the Groundstaff been doing an amazing job of getting the course ship shape??
Dad's Army have also been busy - cutting down trees on the path between the 8th and 9th, laying turf and laying tree trunks on the new path through the forest. A wonderful effort - thank you.
A big thank you to Tim, Darryl and all the staff for helping to make the day run so smoothly.
Thank you to Pam Barker and Helen Chadwick for organising the Wattle arrangements and the raffle. The raffle raised $450.00 which will go towards Pennant petrol money next year.
The winners of the raffle were:
1st Prize - Meg Grady (Moss Vale) - Spring hamper
2nd prize - Penny McKenna - Meat voucher
3rd prize - Carole Byrne - Pogo Stick.
The clubhouse was abuzz with lots of chat and catching up with girlfriends - Covid safe, of course.
With the Foursomes Championships coming up - 31st August and 2nd September, we will be divided into 3 divisions according to the lowest GA handicap in our pairs.
For example if Joan Smith (GA 16.9) is playing with Betty Jones (GA 24.5), then they will be entered into Division 1 of the Championships.
Your GA (Golf Australia) handicap, not your playing handicap, is the one that determines your division.
To check your GA handicap go to the Golflink button at the top of the Bowral Golf Club homepage.
The divisions are as follows:-
Division 1 - 0 - 21.5
Division 2 - 21.6 - 30.6
Division 3 - 30.7 - 54.0
The Foursomes Championships are a Scratch competition, but there will be a daily competition (handicapped event) in conjunction on each of the 2 days.
The 2nd day of the competition is a seeded draw across the field, which will be completed after the 1st Rd on 31st August.
Please see Terms of Competition (ToC) on the noticeboard in the locker room or on this Blog page.
The Hastings & Meg Clark ToC's are also available here or in the locker room.
