Well done to the ladies representing Bowral today at Goulburn. Some very tight match and a very exciting finish as the Pink ladies lined the balcony of Goulburn Golf Club ( like galahs on a wire) waiting for Faye Frith to finish. The matches eventually ended up square with 5 wins, 5 losses and 2 squares. As Bowral was the holder of the Shield in autumn 2010 we retain the Shield until Spring when the next challenge takes place.
Thursday is our Annual Guest Day. It is also St Patricks Day so the theme is "Think Green". We have some lovely prizes to be won and a raffle of Irish ![]()

Ladies,
My apologies for rushing the presentation today but you all seemed to be in such a hurry to leave that I forgot important things. Firstly I forgot our Dear President was in attendance and didn't give her the opportunity to speak to you. My apologies Bernadette. Secondly I didn't announce the Pennant team going to Canberra tomorrow to play against Highlands at Murrumbidgee. The team is: Bridget Gubbins, Joan Polglase, Jill Scott, Pam Barker and Jeannie White. - Good luck to all. On March 15th we play the Bowral Goulburn Shield at Goulburn. The team selected is : Division 1 - Joan Polglase, Wendy Ruttan, Jill Scott & Pam Barker. Division 2 - To be confirmed- Wendy Pope, Jeannie White, Judy Windybank and Anne Geddes. Division 3 - Faye Frith, Carol Turpie, Rosemary Downing, & Lea Binns. If you cannot play please advise me ASAP so a substitute can be arranged. The starting time etc. is on the clip board in the locker room. Today was the first of our Knock Out Competitions - The Jubilee Foursomes. The 1st round must be played by 2nd May 2011 and the matches are: (Refer to the result page for all scores. Refer to the notice board for conditions of play). Lea Binns / Barbara Westwood play Sally Knackstedt / Faye Frith Wendy Ruttan / Uschi Eriksson play Maggie McKenzie / Kathy Barnsley Jill Scott / Joan Polglase play Irene Gilbert / Diana Edwards Anne Keys / Anne Vitou play Judy Windybank / Donelle Foate. Next week is Golf NSW Ladies Summer Meeting in the Highlands. Our course will be overrun with ladies from all parts of the state on Monday( 65 players), Wednesday (124 players) and Thursday (68 players). This is good revenue for the club. The presentation of Trophies won during the week will be held at Bowral Golf Club on Wednesday afternoon about 5.00 pm - turn up a little earlier if you intend to be there. Unfortunately the Bowral course did not draw the Division 1 players as Golf NSW rotates the courses each year, but I am sure that our course will be showcased as usual by Damian and his staff. Invitation day ( 17th March) is fast approaching - remember bring a friend , pay for your friend and think GREEN. |
