The course looked fantastic today for the opening round of the 2016 Club Championships.
Unfortunately the cold weather belied the Spring calendar dates and temperatures barely reached double figures. When the wind came up it felt very cold indeed! This might explain why our playing numbers were not as good as in last year’s event.
Best in Division 1 was reigning champion, Pam Barker (93/72nett) from Chris Hill (98/76).
Jenny Grant dominated Division 2 with Gross 95, net 67. Runner up was Jane Whittaker (101/71).
Faye Frith squeezed out the win on a c/b in Division 3 with 112/79 from Cathy Maule (113/79).
The Extra competition of the day was NTP 2nd shot on 4th hole – A visitor Sandy Nix (Royal Pines) won Division 1, Wendy Burke took Division 2 and Cathy Maule , Division 3.
The massive Jackpot Pro Pin was won by Jane Clifford ($243). She promises to return to shout us next week!
Balls went to 79 (c/b).
Next rounds of the Club Championships:
The next rounds of the Club Championships will be played on Tuesday 18th, and Thursday 20th October.
The draw based on the scratch scores from today (by division), is on the computer. Late entries can be accepted, please consult the captain or pro shop to enter your name. If no space in your division, late entrants will have to play at the end of the field.
Players are welcome to play in any of the daily competitions on the Championship playing days. You don’t need to play all rounds (unless you want to be in contention for the overall championship, of course!). There is a daily nett competition and a special extra competition, e.g NTP by division.
