Some well fought out games took place today at Murrumbidgee Golf Club.
Only on player had seen the course before so it was a real challenge. The Results were: Jenny Grant - won, Carole Turpie - square, Anne Vitou - square, Rosemary Downing - square, Pat Donoghue - lost on the 18th hole. The current points score for the shield are : Royal Canberra - 10, Capital - 10, Bowral -9. Next week at Bowral we play Royal Canberra . If we can beat them on home soil it will be great and we will then be on 11. Capital are playing Belconnen. At this stage we could be in the finals where No 1 plays No 2. Good luck ladies we are all barracking for you. Pam Barker Congratulations to Genelle Almaide for winning the Medal of Medals today. A lovely score of 67 - well done Genelle.
Results for today: Division 1 - Wendy Ruttan & Kathy Barnsley both had a nett 70 so will play off on Thursday 8th September when we play the rescheduled Marjorie Walker Memorial Trophy. Wendy Ruttan won the Club Medal ( oops I made a mistake Wendy won the event of the day NOT the medal. There is a play off for the medal - Sorry Kathy)on a count back from Kathy - nett 70. Kathy was Runner Up, Wendy also won the putts with 29 and the Vets Ball and Helen Martin won the Scratch with 89 on a count back. Division 2 - Anne Keys won with a nett 68. Anne also won the Vets ball. Anne Geddes was Runner Up. Just a note on Anne Geddes - she makes a wonderful Ginger and Golden Syrup Cake. Go to the Hospital Shop anytime to try it. Stephne Whiteway won the putts with 30 and Anne Geddes won the Scratch. Division 3 - Genelle Almaide won the Medal and the Vets with a 67. Anne Vitou was Runner Up with 70 and Anne Vitou won the putts with 28. Balls went to 74 : Joan Polglase, Jan Southon, Faye Frith, Carole Turpie, Stephne Whiteway, Toni Clarke, Pat Donoghue, Shirley Brereton, Helen Martin, Barbara Westwood & Irene Gilbert. The Competition of the Day of course was the Medal of Medals won by - Genelle Almaide. Thank you to the ladies who stayed to congratulate Genelle. Pam Barker
