The sunny dry weather certainly gave the golf course a little chance to dry out, but with more rain occurring last night and today, it's still very wet and soggy.
HOWEVER - we will carry on and keep rescheduling events - might be playing 5 medal rounds in August!!
Due to the course conditions, no carts, and members not wishing to slide around on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd holes, scheduled competitions might be changed at the last minute. Please bear with us - we are trying our best to keep the changes to a minimum and limit the impact on everyone.
On a different note, I am using the club's laptop as mine is in the Apple Hospital getting fixed .... I hope. Due to this dire turn of events, there will be no photos this week and today's blog will be short. Whittaker's Winners will be back next week!

We managed to play some golf on Thursday 21st April. 6 girls played 18 holes and 8 girls played 9 holes. It wasn't the best of fun - especially Holes 1,2 and 3, but at least we were out there.
Congratulations to Barbara Clayton in winning the 18 hole comp with a massive score of 25pts. R/U was Wendy Burke with 20pts.
In the 9 Hole Comp, Jan Ferguson was the winner with 15 pts with Annie Geddes R/U with 13 pts (c/b).
FROM THE WOMEN'S PRESIDENT
At the B.G.C. AGM on Thursday 21st April, the motion to change Article 61(b) of the Constitution was passed unanimously.
This means that, moving forward, the Women Golfer's Committee will comprise seven members: an executive of President, Captain, Vice Captain and Secretary with three ordinary committee members.
Thank you to all for your support for this change.
Sue Flaxman

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BRONZE SHIELD TEAM WHO ARE COMING TOP OF THEIR POOL. IN FACT, THEY ARE TOPPING BOTH POOLS!!!!

They play their last round, before the semis, on Friday 29th April against Braidwood @ RMCGC.
The Plate team travelled to Belconnen yesterday and, unfortunately, they got pipped at the post by Murrumbidgee CC.
The team was ALISON MOONEY, LEONIE POULTON, HELEN EGAN, SUZANNE AYRE AND JILL MALONE.
Next Friday, 29th April, they play Belconnen @ Gungahlin Lakes GC
Well that's all the news this week. Hopefully next week we will have a few more results, I'll have my laptop back so we will have some photos, and the 2 Pennant Teams will have won their respective matches.
Enjoy your long weekend.
Take Care
