It was lovely to see Chris Hill having lunch on Thursday. Hopefully we will see her back playing soon.
Helen Chadwick has been a Board member for 7 years and has been a great support to the Women’s golf and Club. We will miss the beautiful flower arrangements on our special days. We wish her well and hope to see her back playing golf next year.
MiScore App. It is pleasing to see so many keen to use the App for scoring. If your partner on the day, does not have the App, then you record her score and yours on your phone and your partner will score you on a card, you then both agree with the scores and sign on the phone and card.
I have noticed over the last few weeks that we are all getting a little slack on course etiquette and general good manners towards our fellow players. Please let your playing partner know if you are unable to play, particularly in team events. On the course please be mindful of leaving your buggies or carts in front of the green, particularly the 13th. On the 14th hole after finishing putting, walk behind the right hand bunker on your way back to the 15th Tee, to allow players to hit off the 14th if they are waiting for you to finish the hole. Repair Divots on the course and Tee.
My thanks to all for your support and good wishes on my appointment to the Board.
Cheers Ellen
WHITTAKER’S WINNERS
· WOOLIES - Have you noticed lately how difficult it’s become to buy ginger products? Well thank heavens for Woolies who now stock an interesting range of Bundaberg ginger products including NAKED GINGER which is fabulous in recipes requiring preserved ginger or just eat straight form the bag. GINGER BEARS are also available and are must in the golf bag! Both these items are found on the top shelf of the dried fruit section…. easily missed but for a keen eye!
· WOOLIES - PASSAGE TO INDIA stir fry mixes are fabulous and I really think you’ll enjoy trying some of the selections……I’ve always used my own witches brew for stir fry but not anymore! Give them a try. Located between the rice and Indian sections.
· K MART HUB – Now I’m not a faux flowers girl but just sometimes there are some great tricks around like a single (no more)stem magnolia flower placed amongst a vase of real leaf stems. However, what I really want to tell you is that in K Mart they have bunches of peonies for $5.00 each and I think they’re pretty amazing. Great to give someone in hospital as they don’t die or need water. Buy three bunches, two of one colour, and see how good they look.
