Firstly ..... the frosts! Here is a photo (courtesy of KK) taken pretty early yesterday morning.
On Tuesday, 12 women contested the Bowral/Goulburn Shield. We had a lovely day at Goulburn Golf Club - weather, golf and camaraderie were all the winners! Our girls played very well, but unfortunately Goulburn won 7/5. A tremendous effort girls - well done!

We are just about used to the new MiClub scorecards, and I think we all agree that it is much easier using the Reader/Scanner rather than manually entering our scores.
There is one little glitch on the back of the scorecards ..... the Women's Match index is incorrect. For those playing Match Play, please ask the Pro Shop for the "Match Play Cards". The women's index has been blacked out, and we use the Men's index, which is the Universal Index (recommended by Golf Australia), that we have been using for a couple of years. Please see notice in our locker room for more information on this topic.
Talking of Match Play - the final of The Jubilee Foursomes is being played on Tuesday at 10.36am - after the field. It would be great if you could stay and cheer the 4 girls as they finish.
The Finalists are:- Chris Levy & Netti Buchanan V Barb Clayton & Clare Stanham. Good Luck Girls!!
FEATHERED FOES!
You might have noticed on Holes 10, 12 and 14 a device to keep the Corellas away.
They are solar and send out light signals with ultrasonic soundwaves...here's hoping they have the desired effect. Please see image above.

RULES - FREE RELIEF - FROM R & A RULES OF GOLF
Rule 16 covers when and how the player may take free relief by playing a ball from a different place, such as when there is interference by an abnormal course condition or a dangerous animal condition.
- These conditions are not treated as part of the challenge of playing the course, and free relief is generally allowed except in a penalty area.
- The player normally takes relief by dropping a ball in a relief area based on the nearest point of complete relief.
Free relief is allowed for interference by an abnormal course condition (ACC), including an immovable obstruction, when the ball touches or lies in or on the condition, or the condition interferes with the area of intended stance or swing.
Free relief is allowed when the ball is in the general area and there is interference by an abnormal course condition. The nearest point of complete relief should be identified and a ball must be dropped in and come to rest in the relief area. The relief area is one club-length from the reference point, is not nearer to the hole than the reference point and must be in the general area. When taking relief, the player must take complete relief from all interference by the abnormal course condition.
When a ball is on the putting green and there is interference by an abnormal course condition, free relief may be taken by placing a ball on the spot of the nearest point of complete relief. The nearest point of complete relief must be either on the putting green or in the general area. If there is no such nearest point of complete relief, the player may still take this free relief by using the point of maximum available relief as the reference point, which must be either on the putting green or in the general area.
When a ball is embedded in the general area, free relief may be taken. The reference point for taking relief is the spot right behind where the ball is embedded. A ball must be dropped in and come to rest in the relief area. The relief area is one club-length from the reference point, is not nearer to the hole than the reference point and must be in the general area.
FOR MORE INFORMATION ON FREE RELIEF PLEASE GO TO RULE 16 ON R&A WEBSITE.
