Yesterday we held our Closing Day in beautiful sunshine .... who would have thought that we wouldn't be needing our wet weather gear yesterday!!
39 women played a FUN 3 person aggregate stableford over 18 holes, and 50 women enjoyed an absolutely first class Christmas Lunch and conviviality. A BIG thanks to Tim, Regina and the team for putting on such a wonderful meal and service.
Well done to those gals who walked the 18 holes due to the fact that carts were not allowed - they didn't want to let their team down. Great Effort Anne V and Pam B.
Kevin is very keen to offer clinics next year to members. If you can get 4/5 of your friends together, pop in and have a chat to KK and he will organise a time for you. Whether it's for your short game, use of fairway woods or driving - we are sure that KK has the answers. Book in quickly - I am sure he will be inundated!!

CLOSING DAY
Closing Day 2021 was a very happy occasion. Not only did we play golf in glorious sunshine and partook of a sensational lunch (as mentioned above), we had a bit of fun playing an adult version of "pass the parcel". Thank you to Sandy, Emma and Meeghan for showing us that most of us had no idea which way is "right" and which way is "left"!! Congratulations to the winners.
The Raffle was a HUGE success. A special thank you to Ellen Goodwin and Chris Levy for organising this and wrapping all the wonderful gifts provided by YOU.
We raised $502.00 which will go towards travel money for our Pennant Teams in 2022. THANK YOU EVERYONE.
We farewelled Pam Barker and Helen Chadwick who are stepping down from their positions as President and Vice President - thank you for all your work this year. Noela McMurray, unfortunately, was unable to be present, but we thank her for all her hard work this year with handicapping, course indexing, eclectics etc.
We congratulated Pat Donoghue on a milestone birthday. Pat was presented with a special VWGA Hat Clip.
We were entertained by our new Vice Captain, Jill Malone - who was introduced to you all at the Annual Meeting last Thursday. Jill shared a very amusing joke - thanks Jill!!

THE LONGEST DAY
I have sent an email to you all with information about this fundraising day. Barb, Ginny, Chris and I will endeavour to play as many holes as we can in support of this wonderful cause. We would love to see any of you out there cheering us on!!
WHITTAKER'S WINNERS
Christmas is so close now and let’s hope nothing goes wrong with our state borders, it’s such a worry. I think we must keep shopping for Christmas and stay positive. This week I have focused on gifts so here goes!
- The Countryman – This is one of our specialty shops for our country men but they also cater for the country gal. I’m forever buying two of my favourite men’s items at this store and they are always a great hit. Firstly the kangaroo plaited belts by Badgery Belts are hard to beat and yes they are made in QLD from the real deal. I always buy the one that has 2 loops for a buckle. Cost approx. $90. Secondly the Humphrey Law alpaca and wool socks are a wonderful gift for men or women. Check out the raspberry pink ones! Cost $34.
- Barbara’s Storehouse – I just couldn’t resist the large Christmas Angels that sit on a table of window sill. If you’re not big on decorations just have an angel on your mantle and nothing else. It’s gorgeous. Cost $17
- Country Accent - The fragrance is what first gets you when you enter this lovely shop and it’s coming from the Cinnamon Sticks. They are mock ones that have been sprayed in cinnamon oil. The cinnamon sticks are $10 a bundle. I couldn’t resist a bundle and I’m going back for more to give away. The oil costs $22 a bottle.
It’s so reassuring to know that a walk down Bong Bong Street always results in a ‘find’ so put your walking shoes on. I’ll venture further next year if you’ll have me. I also know how lucky we are to have such exciting shops in Berrima, Bowral, Moss Vale and Mittagong.
A very Happy and healthy Christmas to you all!
Jane xx
