Perfect weather, perfect course…yet many found today’s round a challenge (speaking for myself, at least!) Some tricky pin placements guaranteed a few extra putts, but it was truly a course befitting a Championship round, and for this I have thanked Damian and the Greens Staff on your behalf.
I had the pleasure of playing with today’s winner, Anne Geddes who shot 91/nett 70 with some accurate play. Only three players broke the ‘100’ barrier, including Chris Hill (95) and Pam Barker (97). This leaves the Championship fairly open for next week’s second and final rounds on Tuesday and Thursday respectively. Division 2 is also close, with Jan Ferguson and Anne Keys at the front of the field, while Pat Donoghue, Cathy Maule and Carol Humphreys all feature in the Division 3 mix.
Today’s event rewarded the Nett winners in each division with a $20 voucher :
Anne Geddes(70), Jan Ferguson (75 c/b) and Carol Humphreys (77).
Balls went to 80 on a count back.
Jane Clifford won the Pro pin $42, and Helen Chadwick the NTP 2nd shot on 4th.
The seeded draw (in divisions) is now on the club website. Any other players are welcome to join the field after the Championship draw for the daily competition.
Best of luck to our 10 ladies playing for the Oxley Plate with their male partners against Moss Vale GC on Sunday. Please wear club shirts with white “bottoms” or a navy/ white combination on the day!
