Event Changes
An ongoing implication to our golfing schedule due to the Coronavirus means there will be a number of changes to our upcoming program. The club online calendar is up to date and the pro shop is in the process of making any changes required in the booking system.
Tuesday 24 March
This was listed as the Hi/Lo Foursomes event but has now been changed to a Single Stableford event.
Saturday 28 March
This event was in our calendar originally as a Stableford event but as it now a Par event for the men, the women are also playing Par.
Tuesday 31 March
Thanks to the players who had expressed a willingness to travel to Goulburn to represent our club in the Bowral-Goulburn Shield. This event has now been postponed to some time in the future. There is no change to the Stableford event also scheduled on this day.
Thursday 2 April - Mabel McKenzie Brooch (NSW Vets)
No change here but please write a V on your card if you are a Vet (aren't we all?) or SV if you are a Super Vet (70 years and over).
Tuesday 14 April
Originally listed as 4BBB Stableford (String) but we are not proceeding with the string part of the event (too much handling of shared objects). Instead we will add a bit of variety to our game by playing 4BBB Stableford on the White Course.
Thursday 30 April
This was to be our annual very popular Invitation Day. Unfortunately due to the Coronavirus we have cancelled this event for the time being. Instead we will schedule a Stableford round played on the Blue Course.
Bronze Shield Pennants
Bowral Golf Club was due to host a round of the CSGA Bronze Shield Pennants on Friday 20 March. What an opportunity to show off the wonderful condition of our course. Unfortunately the CSGA has taken the significant decision to cancel all Pennants competitions for the 2020 season. Hopefully we can show off our new shirts next year!
Single Stableford - Thursday 19 March
Thirty players enjoyed great golfing conditions. Certainly a strange atmosphere afterwards when we no longer get together for our presentations.
Division 1
Winner - Alex Dowling (24) 37 points c/b
Runner-up - Barbara Clayton (25) also 37 points
Division 2
Winner - Carole Turpie (38) 42 points (Wow !!!!!!!!!!!)
Runner-up - Jenny Alexander (31) 33 points
Irish Team of 4 4BBB Stableford - Tuesday 17 March
I think the Leprechauns must have been out helping the winning team. For the rest of us, our Mulligans were just not enough to get us over the line.
Winners - Chris Hill (21), Carole Turpie (38), Robyn McGinnes (30) & Rosemary Downing (36) with a team score of 80 points,
Drive & pitch 12th - Helen Chadwick
Pro-pin - Robyn McGinnes ($30)
Single Stableford - Saturday 14 March
Sue Harrison (26) was the winner with 31 points in a field of 6 players.
