Despite the damp course, the weather was great today for our 4th Medal round of the year. Only 24 players contested it, including our two occasional visitors from NSWGC, Di Lindsay and Sonia Young.
1. Jan Deane was the Medal winner in Division 1 (94/74), and also won Best Scratch and Veterans. Pam Barker took the Putting award on a count back (28).
2. Winner of the Medal in Division 2 was Leonie Carroll (Nett 77) from Anne Keys (78 c/b). Best Scratch was Barbara Clayton (101), while Anne also won the putting competition (29). Leonie won the Veterans too.
3. Division 3 was an interesting affair. Our visitor Sonia was the best both Nett and Scratch (107/72), but of course can’t win the Club Medal. Best of the locals were Noela McMurray and Cathy Maule (78) , who will have to play off in the next Stroke round (July 20th) to decide the medallist. Noela won the Veterans on a count back, and Rosemary Downing won the Putting (31 c/b.)
The Veterans Country Championship is both Best Scratch and Nett by division – All the above Nett winners (Jan, Leonie and Noela) are now entered for the Nett events, and the Scratch winners respectively for that event (Jan, Barbara and Cathy).
Tuesday Stableford:
Chris Hill collected the win with 32 points, but also the ‘Jackpotted’ Pro pin for $51. Wendy Burke was Runner up on a count back with 28 points. Leonie won NTP with her 2nd shot on 4th hole.
Saturday Golf:
No one played last Saturday, but this week there is a 4BBB Stableford. As not many names are down yet, I have asked the Pro shop to consider a Single Stableford event. They will make a decision on the day in consultation with the players.
