What a fabulous day!
48 players, our biggest field for a while, enjoyed cool and ideal conditions today. Most players turned out in their chosen outfits of Blue and Gold, except Sandy our fashion leader, who has declared ‘beige’ the new blue! Thanks to everyone for your cooperation in making it a ‘smooth’ day, a promising start to our new golfing year.
It was the Gold team who came out on top, a mere 3 points separating the Presidents total from the Captains 424 to 421…!
Best teams of the day were both representing the Captain- Sue Harrison and Prue Taylor winning on a count back from Chris Hill and newcomer Ruth Baillie, with 41 points. They collected $25 each as winners and $20 each for runners up.
Chris Hill won the NTP on 6th hole, and Leonie Carroll the 2nd shot NTP on 15th hole.
All members of the WINNING CAPTAIN”S TEAM received a ball- well done, ladies!! And commiserations to the new President Pam, but it was really the “Captain’s turn’ after a few years where the Blues have dominated.
Two special 2017 trophies were presented:
Jean Derrin Jug (Most Reduced Handicap in the calendar year- Michelle Di Natale (28 to 15).
Saturday Trophy (Most points for Saturday Stroke rounds) – Pam Barker
Congratulations to both winners for an excellent year of golfing.
