New Rules 2019
Following on from my blog last week we have had some fruitful discussions after golf on Tuesday and Thursday. We will keep this up during January.
Please also make sure you read David Stanley's (Club Captain) blog as there is also good information for you there - in particular about the remarking of penalty areas on the course.
There is nothing like a quiz to make sure we know our new rules so on Tuesday and Thursday this week we will have a quick quiz before the results presentations. The discussion around the answers is always helpful.
Please also make sure you have a copy of the Player's Edition of the Rules of Golf in your golf bag. They are available in the pro-shop and I have also put some in the locker room.
Survey
Following disappointing fields participating in last years Club Championships we have been undertaking a short survey asking for suggestions that may help increase the fields. Your Match Committee will be discussing the results on Tuesday but you are still welcome to respond if you have not done so already. There are forms available in the locker room.
Summer Aggregate Competition (SAC)
There are still a couple of rounds to go so make sure you come and play if you still need more scores to get to the required six stableford rounds. Don't forget the online calendar is always the most up to date place to check on our golf program.
Here are the results from our recent games. Pam Barker has certainly started the year with a bang with a mention in dispatches in each game. The rest of us need to pull up our socks and perhaps actually do some practice!
Single Stableford (Thursday 10 January)
15 players experienced almost perfect golfing conditions - not too hot - but the flies were very pesky.
Winner - Susan Flaxman with 33 points
Runner Up - Pam Barker with 29 points
NTP 2nd shot 12th hole - Jane Clifford
Pro-Pin - not won so the $15.00 will jackpot to next Thursday.
Single Stableford (Tuesday 8 January)
15 players on what turned into a very hot and humid day. Starting early helps though.
Winner - Carol Warner (21) with 32 points
Runner Up - Pam Barker (19) with 31 points c/b
NTP 2nd shot 4th hole - Helen Chadwick
Pro-Pin - not won so the $20.00 will jackpot to next Tuesday.
Single Stableford (Saturday 5 January)
6 hardy players managed to cope with an extremely hot day.
Winner - Pam Barker (20) with 35 points must have been playing on a different course to the other players.
Runner Up - Helen Chadwick (26) with 22 points c/b
Single Stableford (Thursday 3 January)
10 players for our first golfing day of the new year. Some good scores meant some of the handicaps moved in the right direction.
